Aggravated Assault

"Returning The Favor"-Part 3

The scene opens outside of the Sedgwick County Jail. We see the bright, wide, yellow sun shining down upont he large building. The grass is a very healthy green, and the trees stand tall and proud with branches extended long and far. We fade inside to the cool air conditioned jail, where we see two people walking down the hall being escorted by a guard. The two people, Detective Matt Steves and Misty Bradford, enter a room that the guard lets them into, as he opens the door. The room isn't well lit, but a hint of sunlight lines the walls and a side of the brown table that sets in the center of the small room. A two-way mirror is on one of the walls farthest from the door, and there is a cage in one corner with a wooden bench inside. Another guard stands there with a man in an orange jumpsuit. The man is is his mid-40's, but judging by his thin, graying hair and skin that looks as if its hanging out on his face for a little bit until it finally decides to fall off, you'd think he was way older. However, that's the effects of the drugs. Misty and Matt have a seat on one side of the table and the guards order the man to sit down across from them on a chair. Misty nods to the guards that they are free to go and that she and Matt will take it from here on. The guards exit the room, closing the doors behind them. They stand guard outside of it.

Detective Misty Bradford: Hello, Mr. Richardson, I am Detective Bradford and this is my partner Detective Stevens. We'd like to have a few words with you regarding the murder you've been accused for.

We switch scenes to the police station where we see Leiutenant Scott Smith leaving his office. He makes sure that the door is locked by jiggling the knob, obviously he has something to hide, right? He walks towards his secretary and sits on her desk. She looks up at him, with an attitude, and she has a right to, because he shouldn't be sitting on her desk. She, being Jenny Rice, believes that her boss is somewhat of a prick. She kisses his ass and you wouldn't even notice that she didn't like him if you weren't actually her.. she smiles a fake smile to Smith, and she asks, in a calm, colected voice..

Jenny Rice: Yes, sir?

Lieutenant Scott Smith: Jenny, I'm going to head out for now to the county jail. I'm going to really give it to that Mark Andrews guy, because I never got the chance to reallly rub it in that he didn't get away. You know how it is, that bastard paid the price and I'm the one who is responsible for putting him behind bars.

Jenny knows something is up, something isn't right, she knows that for sure. But she just smiles, and understands him just so she can keep her job, and her money she makes.

Jenny Rice: No problem sir, I'll take any messages and give them to you when you return if anything comes up.

Lieutenant Scott Smith: Great, Jenny, your a peach! I'll see you later babe.

Babe? She thinks.. what the hell is wrong with that guy? He thinks he is all that and the center of the universe, but he is almost twice Jenny's age. She smiles and giggles a little bit, and he walks out. As he closes walks down stairs, she slowly, lifts her right hand, and flips him off.

We then change over to an indy promotion in Oklahoma, known as Tornado Championship Wrestling. PKA and Adam Payne arrive in the small room with a wrestling ring in it. They have reserved it for the day to work out and work on in-ring skills and moves. Ash stands in the corner with her cell phone, talking to a few of her friends, as Adam and PKA get into the ring and begin to do what they are here to do. PKA jumps up on top rope and sits there, motioning to Adam to come over to him.

PKA: You see, this is gonna kick ass. I thought of it a week ago but never got a chance to tell you about it. See, you'll have the opponent, let's say Otis, on your shoulders, facing me up here. Otis is dazed, he's out of it, not knowing what in the hell is going on and shit. I grab him by the head, in a DDT position, and you grab onto me right here, on my hips. You spin me around while also turning yourself, and boom, down we go, I DDT his skull into the mat!

Adam Payne: Holy shit, that's sick. Perfect. Sort of like a super Tornado DDT.

PKA: Exactly, that's somethin' you've never seen before huh?

Adam Payne: Damn straight.

PKA jumps down.

PKA: You see, we gotta get some moves that nobody else is using, because we are a unique team, and a unique team that is going to be successful on our own terms. We're not gonna copy off of otha' fools and steal they' shit, we gon' make up what fits us and go out there and show everyone why we deserve to be the Tag Team Champions.

Adam Payne: Hell, we're almost to the Tag Team titles bro. We just gotta beat Otis and Captain Spaulding, damn, what a name, and we are the number one contenders. Its damn simple man, we got this one for sure, bro. Otis didn't even have a match on Malice last week, and I didn't hear him complaining one bit, so its obvious, well at least to me, that he doesn't even feel like wrestling much at all. I could be wrong, but yeah.

PKA: No I totally agree, and hell, did you see Spaulding in that jobber match? What the heck is up with that division anyways? And what kind of an idiot would put himself in a match like that? What, is he gonna go around bragging, boasting about bein' counted out? What a dumbass. You'd think he'd want his first match to be something he could look back on and remember that it was historic, or at least it meant something. But no, he's in a jobber match that ended in a double count out, and at least he took some action afterwards unlike Otis.

Adam Payne: Wow, a big attack from behind. I'm impressed, really I am.

They laugh at Adam's sarcastic attitude. PKA leans on the ropes, testing them out. He snaps his fingers at Adam.

PKA: Check this out, man. I'd be up there on the top buckle, okay?

Adam Payne: Yeah?

PKA: You hit a backbreaker on Otis or Spaulding, or any other jackass who's in the ring with us at the time.. I jump off top and land a legdrop..

Adam Payne: Ahh, I hold them on my knee, right?

PKA: Ding!

Adam Payne: Well what about this. Since you like bein' up there so much, I lift the guy up for a big powerbomb, but instead of dropping their ass down on the mat, you jump off top in a flying bodypress, and take their ass down harder!

PKA slaps Adam's hand.

PKA: Dude, that's tight. I never thought of that before. That'd be awesome to do. Too bad we don't have some cheap ass punk for us to practice moves on, huh?

Adam Payne: No kidding, but we'd probably end up hurting the little guy, so that'd be our asses.

PKA: True, so I guess we'll just have to do it right, this Sunday when we face Otis and Spaulding. They can be the ones we hurt, and then it'll all be O-Kay.

Adam Payne: Man, you've been doing that a lot lately...you're obsessed with John Cena.

PKA: Nah man, I just like his raps.

PKA laughs and the two continue their training, trying out different moves and such. We fade out.

We then go back to the interigation room with Detectives Bradford and Stevens, along with David Richardson.

Detective Misty Bradford: Mr. Richardson, how did you know Mark Andrews?

Misty and Matt stare at David, watching his every move, his every twitch. Mark Andrews was the man who was murdered, and his name is all too familiar to Richardson, but only because it had been repeated over and over in the courtroom. David didn't know the guy, he never met him in his life. He always asks-Why Me? Sure, the drug life that he had didn't do him any good either, but at least he was a free man. He tries to think of an answer to Misty's question, as to not give anything away. He must think of something for if the Detectives find out the truth and that he is lying, Lieutenant Smith will have his wife murdered! Oh how he wishes he could be with her now, every so greatly. He gulps, and speaks the first thing that comes to his mind, but he hesitates in doing so.

David Richardson: He, he was an old drug buddy of mine, I guess you could call him that.

Detective Matt Stevens: Drug buddy, you say? He didn't look like the type who did drugs heavily such as you did. Are you sure that's how you know him?

David things for a second. He nods.

David Richardson: Yes, well, not exactly.. see, He used to be my drug buddy, a real good friend of mine. We would party all of the time, until one day he decided it wasn't for him anymore. We parted ways and hadn't spoken in years until that one.. that one night.

Detective Misty Bradford: So what caused you two to come together again?

David Richardson: We just happened to run into each other, I guess. We started off alright and-

Detective Matt Stevens: -And then you found he changed his life around, well, at least that he was still clean?

David Richardson: Right, that's it.

Misty loks at Matt, and gives him a look that suggests she is unhappy with him because he put words in David's mouth.

David Richardson: He started preaching on how I shouldn't do drugs, I yelled at him to just drop it and I told him they don't do nothin bad to you. I offered him somethin' I had on me, and he refused. Long story short, well, you know..

Detective Matt Stevens: Right-

Misty interupts..

Detective Misty Bradford: No, Mr. Richardson, we don't know. Please, tell us what happenex next.

David sighs, and agrees. He continues the story as the scene fades out.

We fade back to PKA, Adam, and Ash who ar enow exiting the building. PKA pulls out his keys and presses the button to unlock the car doors. He opens Ash's door for her and she gets in, he closes the door then. Adam gets in the back and PKA sets his bbags, as does Adam with his, on the opposite side from where Payne is sitting. PKA enters the drivers door and starts up the car, buckles up, turns on the CD Player with "Holidae In" by Chingy playing, and takes off out of the parking lot onto the road.

Adam Payne: Hey man, those moves should come in handy on Sunday against Otis and Spaulding. Nobody's going to believe it if we pull any of those off.

PKA: Hell if we get the chance we're goin' for 'em, and then people won't freakin' believe it, you're right! Those moves are insane as hell, and I think they fit us just right.

Ash: I don't know how you come up with that stuff, though.

PKA: I just got it like that, ya know?

PKA smiles. Ash rolls her eyes and smiles back.

Ash: Oh yeah, I forgot!

The trio drive on and continue to talk as we fade out...

..and Fade back into the interrigation room, where Misty and Matt are just finishing up with David Richardson, for now. They call for the guards, and one opens the door for them as the other walks over to and stands near David, ordering him to stand up. Misty and Matt turn to David.

Detective Misty Bradford: We'll keep in touch, David. Thankyou, you've been...

She hesitates..

..somewhat cooperative. Let's go Detective

They exit the room and are escorted down the hall by the guard from the door. As they finally reach the main entrance/exit zone, Leiutenant Scott Smith enters through the door. He smiles and winks at one of the female employees, as the detectives stop in their tracks and gasp. Scott turns his head to them, and his smile fades, as he stops abruptly also. He stands there, as do they, staring back at each other wondering..'why are you here?'. We fade to black.
