Plantae



Plants are many-celled organism taht are characterized by their tough call walls and phtosynthetic abilities. They use chlorophyll. Chlorophyll is a pigment that can take sun light energy and convert it into food energy or sugar. Plants are known as Producers becuase they can make their own food. The food chain begins with Producers, who supply food food for the Consumers of the world. Plants most likely evolved from plant-like protists about 420 million years ago. Nearly 300,000 plants have been identified and their environments range from the deep ocean to mountain tops. There are 3 main phylas:
  1. Anthophyta: These are flowering plants.
  2. Pterophyta: These are ferns and are the main phylum.
  3. Bryophyta: These are mosses and mosses are non-vascular plants.

Bellis perennis


Bellis perennis is an example of a plant in the plantae kingdom. The genus name is Bellis perennis. The species name is perennis. They usually are perennial and grow up to four inches tall(10 cm). Their habitat is Europe and mostly Great Britain. The name Bellis is Latin and it means pretty. Bellis perennis flowers are also known as the English daisy. Bellis perennis is the first remedy that comes to mind in damage of deeper body tissues, like after a great operation. It promotes the healing process, it stops or prevents suppuration, it will take off the painful pressure of wounds and soothe the pain of nerves being cut through.
