Fungi

Fungi are many-celled organisms that decompose dead matter in our environment. They are important Consumers. Fungi and bacteria are responsible for cleaning our environment. In fact, they are in competition with one another for materials to decompose. Fungi are found in soil, dead trees, and even on your bread sometimes. There are three phylas in the Fungi Kingdom. They are Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, and Zygomycota.
Ascomycota: these types of fungi produce spores in little sacs called asci. The spores are released when the asci si broken and happens when the asci sacs are mature. Many Sac Fungi cause disease in farm crops. Another Sac Fugi is yeast.
Basidiomycota: Produce spores in a club-shape structure. Some simple decompose matter that has died and some are parasites. Fungi usually grows under ground, in logs or in places that are moist and provide food. Digested materials are absorbed by the hyphae.
Zygomycota: Produce spores in round spore eases called sporangia. They are located on the tips of upright hyphae. When a sporangia breaks open, hundreds of spores are released. They will grow into new fungi if there is enough moisture, warmth, and food.

Psilocybe cyanescens

Psilocybe cyanescens is an example of a poisonous mushroom that is in the fungi kingdom. The genus name is Pslocybe cyanescens and the species name is cyanescens. This is also a type of mushrooms. These types of mushrooms live scattered to gregariuos on woody debris, leaf litter, and wood chips; fruiting from late summer in watered areas to mid-winter. These mushrooms are not edible and are poisonous. Gills adnate to seceding, pale cinnamon brown, becoming dark grey-brown, edges lighter than the faces, mottled from spores at maturity. Their spores are elliptical, smooth, with an apical pore; spore print purple-brown to purple-grey. Psilocybe Cubensis are the most commonly cultivated "magic" mushroom. Psilocybe cyanescens are wood-decomposers.
