Exellent Eubacteria

Eubacteria

Sometimes called the "true" bacteria, these differ greatly from Archaebacteria. They differ in about everything except size and lack of nucleus. They are prokaryotic and practice almost completely asexual reproduction. There are four main phyla in this kingdom. They are Cyanobacteria, Spirochetes, Gram-positive, Proteobacteria.

Cyanobacteria are photosythetic like plants. They give off oxygen as a biproduct and supply aerobic organisms with it. They are often found in water.

Spirochetes are spiral-shaped and heterotrophic. They may or may not need oxygen, and may or may not be parasitic.

The largest Phyla in Eubacteria is Proteobacteria. Many of them are gram-negative. There are an astounding amount of subgroups in this phyla.

E. coli (Escherichia coli) This E. coli is part of the Eubacteria kingdom. It is a common bacteria that is found in almost everything. It is required for the human body to function and provides us with vitamins that our body gladly absorbs. We in turn provide it with its needed nutrients such as glucose. E. coli O157:H7 is a strain that has recently been publicized due to the fact that it is a foodborne illness that can make a person very sick or even die.
