Why NHS? By whomever Being in the National Honor Society, I believe, would be a very stimulating experience. This is why, in a nutshell, I would like to be honored with being a member of this prestigious group. I was never quite sure what the National Honor Society members actually did; regrettably, I must admit that I’m still not entirely sure what the role would entail. However, I will try to uphold the traditions and values of the NHS if I were to become a member. When Mr. Robinson informed me that he would be sponsoring the NHS group this year, he told me that they were going to try a more “active” role in our community. This, he said, might include anything from community service projects to trips. Membership in NHS seemed more and more intriguing. I think that the projects that Mr. Robinson told me about would allow me to get more experience in community involvement, opening a whole new world for me. Living in the country doesn’t provide a very big opportunity for community service, and the NHS just might be a perfect opening for me to help out wherever I’m needed. The qualities that I would bring to the National Honor Society are no different than those of any other applicant or previous member. Honesty, fairness, and ethics can be found almost ubiquitously, especially if one were to look hard enough. But I would like to hold the honor of being someone that any school member could look up to and ask for advice. Not setting, but continually being a good example for my peers. Working hard to achieve the goals and upholding the values of the organization. Getting more involved, and more importantly, staying involved in the community. That is why I would like to be in the National Honor Society.
