I like TV. A lot of people like TV, but the difference between them and me is that I like good TV. But I don't watch TV in the normal way other people do. I make up my own stories. It's more entertaining, and not as mindless. On this page, I'm going to tell you why I watch(ed) certain shows. My opinion of the show, and whatever else I decided to rant or rave about. So if you dare, read on.
I started watching The X-Files during the summer of 1998. Season 4 re-runs were airing, and I was hooked. I started watching non-reruns in the sixth season. I really liked the show. But over the few years I was watching in-season, I grew to dislike Mulder and Scully. Mostly because the creator (Chris Carter - who has serious head issues) was giving the shippers everything they wanted and destroying the characters and the show. I was pissed as hell at the season 7 cliffhanger of Scully being pregnant. It was the stupidest thing to do. I was so pissed that I refused to watch season 8. I thought that it would be Scully running around like a fat whore whining and crap like that. Who really wants to watch that? Not me. But then I heard news that Robert Patrick was coming on the show as a new agent named John Doggett. When I heard he was coming on, I was watching! He's just the coolest! He made the show so fresh. He was just what the show was lacking. A good agent. Then came Annabeth Gish as Monica Reyes. She totally kicks arse! And season 9 is my favorite season. Scully was hardly in the episodes, Mulder was gone. And it was the adventures of Doggett and Reyes! These two characters totally rock my world! Then there was Brad Follmer (Cary Elwes). Kersh was still a hoot! And it was all good. But then, David Duchovny came back when he said he was never going to. He came back for the horrible two hour final. It was crap. I was pissed. Hell, I didn't even pay attention until Doggett, Reyes, Knowle and all the good people came. So I guess I only saw about 12 mins of the two hour finale. Chris Carter is a bastard for underusing great actors and characters like he did. My series finale is Sunshine Days. That episode had a real happy finale ending. I don't know what crack Chris Carter is on, but he should never write again in his life. But overall, I do like the show still. Mostly the Doggett seasons (8 and 9). I don't give a flying flip about Mulder and Scully. Doggett, Reyes, Follmer, Skinner, Kersh, Krycek, Marita, CSM, The Syndicate, Spender, ect are the great characters that I care about!
I recently started to watch Will & Grace. It's a great little show and I love all the characters. But if they make Grace get pregnant, I might have to scream! It seems that any show I watch, I jinx it. That's not a good thing. But I'm hoping that in this seasons finale they were mocking all the other shows that decided to have bastard children (ex: The X-Files, Friends). But yeah, I love Will & Grace. It's just a great little show.
Friends use to be my all time favorite sitcom. I'm not sure when I started watching inseason. I don't remember. But I'm not going to watch the show anymore because they ruined it with another baby 'plot' line. I hate it. They suck now. They use to be funny, now it's the Ross and Rachel show. I hate them too. Joey and Chandler were the best characters. I miss the good old days before Chandler married Monica and he was living with Joey. Pheobe is still great. I think it's amazing that we still know nothing about her and they are going into their ninth season! Joey and Pheobe are the best characters on the show now. I'm going to stop watching Friends because I want to remember my favorite characters as the good characters that they are. I'm fearing another baby 'plot' line, marriage, ect. It's all repeat crap with them.
CSI is a great show. I was a little hesitant to get into this show because I didn't want to jinx it. It's a smart show, and I love it. They have great characters. They haven't mucked it up with a romance, and if they do, I might scream again! So umm... yeah, watch CSI it's wonderful!
CSI: Miami is another wonderful crime show. And to my happy surprise, Steven Maeda (who use to write on The X-Files... Brand X, Redrum, 4-D, Audrey Pauley) wrote the pilot episode! To be honest, I don't know what happened in that episode still because I totally flipped out when I saw that he was on the show... then I saw he wrote it! But yes, CSI: Miami is awesome! I love crime shows. My tv these days are full of it! :)
