exams is the first and the foremost requirement for getting admission and
improving your chances of getting a financial aid.Since GRE is now computer
based, you can almost give it any time during the year.Though for TOEFL you will
have to check up the dates .You can order your GRE forms from the GRE web site(http://www.gre.org/

Tips for GRE:
1.For taking GRE,choose that time of the year
when you would be relatively free and would be able to give enough time for
preparation.
2.The GRE that you take should be your first
and last GRE because many universities take the average of your scores ,so even
if you screw up in your first attempt and do well in your next, your effective
score won’t be any good.
3.All the sections in the test would seem
easy ,but remember that it’s a race against time. The trick lies in how fast
you can solve the problems that appear in the test.
4.Try and solve as many tests as possible so
that you get a hang of the main test.Try and sit for the tests at a stretch so
that you get a feeling of the actual GRE.
5.Read as much as possible to improve your
vocabulary. This is one section that people generally find tough. So it is
advisable that you do the words list given in "Barron’s " really
well.Don’t try and mug the words, try to bring them in use in day to day life.
6.For the quantitive and analytical
sections, solve as many problems as you can and set a time limit for yourselves
so that you achieve your targets.By the end of it ,you will get a decent hang of
the kind of problems that usually appear in the actual test.
7.Try and fill the forms as early as possible
so that you can get the date of your choice.
8.Remember,do not go for the test if you are
not fully prepared. The date can be postponed with paying any extra charges. All
it costs is a phone call to the number given above.
Tips for TOEFL:
TOEFL is considered relatively easy and most
people come out with decent scores.Students who have done their schooling in
English do not usually find it difficult to cope up with the level of questions
that appear in the test. But for students with non english background it is
suggested that they should read as many books and magazines as possible so that
they get a hang of the grammar and the usage of words. It is usually adviceable
to do the tests appearing in the "Barron’s".
