Classroom Etiquette:

If you are late, please do not expect the instructor to catch you up. The instructor must keep the rest of the class moving forward. Do not expect the other students to catch you up. If you are on time but get lost in the lecture please notify the instructor before it is too late. No E-mail Writing, Web Chatting, Instant Messaging or web surfing during class. No exceptions!!!

Attendance Policy :

Attendance is critical in this course. Material is presented and explained in a way which may be different from the textbook or in the handouts. It is not feasible to repeat demonstrations for absent students. If you must be absent, you are expected to obtain missed assignments, announcements, handouts, and demonstration notes from your fellow students. Because each class builds on each other and the intensive nature of this course, it is extremely difficult to make up a missed class. I will not fax or e-mail assignments, projects or notes. I have no set policies for you to call about absences. If you are going to miss a class, notify me in advance if possible. Otherwise contact me when you return. If your absence extends beyond the dates of the class and you do not contact me, you will receive a grade based on your total points accumulated up till your abscense.

Withdraw Policy :

Students who simply stop attending remain officially enrolled and must be assigned a course grade. You can officially withdraw by contacting JCCC Admissions prior to the date when the course is approximately ¾ completed, (see Admissions for current policy or look in the college catalog.) If you have enrolled in this class and another class that meets at the same time you must choose between one or the other because attendance is critical in this short term course. You must make arrangements with me and the other instructor prior to this action.

Getting your Grade:

It is your responsibility to keep all graded assignments until you have received the final grade for the course. This will be advantageous to both the instructor and yourself, in case there is a conflict in the final grade at the end of the course. JCCC has made it policy that grades will no longer be mailed. There are two ways to check you grade. 1- - go to www.jccc.net and login in to pipeline using your student ID and password. 2 - - Go to the main campus and the college's registration office. By State and Federal government academic policy I cannot tell you your final grade through E-mail or over the telephone.
