Title:
Cross 2000
Pairings: 1x2
Circle/DJka: Min Haruno
& Hiroka Kanan

Date Published: 1997

  • Artwork: Very stylized, slightly gothic looking artwork here, with lots of angles and shading. I hated it at first, but it has grown on me very easily.

**Very nice, sexy even. Less shoujo - more goth and I guess flowing? Definitely nice to see Duo and Heero in some other clothes - though yes, spandex does wonders for Heero's .. figure...

  • Plot: I haven't taken the time to translate this (about half of it is pure text, and the drawings, while gorgeous, don't tell much of a story), but it looks to be plot heavy and serious. The story focuses on Duo, partly on his relationship with Heero (strong shounen ai themes, although there is little actual sex), and partly with his connection to the Church/an orphanage (judging by the number of children around him)

**There are two main plots going on. The first one is represented in picture towards the front of the dj. Heero is sitting outside of a cathedral? and Duo comes upon him and takes him back to the cathedral/orphanage? where he's working. I think Heero was about to commit suicide, and Duo said something along this lines of "I don't think so." The second plot takes place within the middle and end of the dj. The middle of the dj is actually text - with side panels of pictures, that don't have to do with the text story - they're actually pics from the first story ^^;;. Anyway, its about a little girl? and Duo.... so's the back of the dj, confusing -_-

  • Opinion: Its a very attractive book, and well made (thick glossy cover, heavy weight paper). If you're a serious Duo fan, and/or can read Japanese without too much difficulty, it looks like it would be a great DJ. Otherwise, you might find it more frustrating than anything else.

**I liked. It was a 1x2 implication, but no uke Duo's here. Let's put it this way, Heero tops only cause Duo wants him to. ^_^ The drawings are sexy and gotta love the clothes ^^
