II. Write steps for lab write up. Why is each component important.

III. Scientific Method...How did Mendel use the scientific method? Who invented it? What do you think is the most important part of the scientific method? Why?

IV. Discussion questions...1. What significance does being alone have in our culture? Is it impotant? Why?...2. Discuss what drives this economy. What do people do? Why are there no machines? How does this relate to economy? How does it effect those in charge? ...3. You and your group are reformers. If the "Brave New World" were a real place/country, what should our response be in dealing with them? How would it differ from how we have dealt with IRAQ? ...4. How is the scientific method used in this book? List the steps of the scientific method with your group and discuss it's implications to the "Brave New World". ...5. How would this society treat it's natural resources? ...6. What are some of the things this society values most? ...7. How are Hemoltz and Bernard similiar? What is their reasoning for revolting agianst the "Brave New World?

1. Why would the give a women a “Pregnancy Substitute”? What does this say about the genuineness of this society?

2. What was so strange about Lenina and John’s relationship? What did each one desire from the other?

3. How did science and the “Brave New World” treat Linda and her illness? Is this what Linda wanted? If science can give people the kind of life they want, why would it be considered wrong?

4. What do you think about Mustapha Mond? Is he controlling society for his own benefit? Why/Why not?

5. What slowly happens to Bernard? Trace his life in the book and discuss what you know about him thus far.

I. Finish KWL on cloning/genetic engineering.
II. Get your paper airplane lab (you do not necessarily need it, but it will help) and write a standard lab write up for this lab.
III. Identify the control, dependent, independent, variable, experimental group
IV. Discuss how each component of the scientific method is used.
V. Inquiry box summary (must be present in class)
VI. Darwin video (A&E). Take notes. There will be a small quiz.
