CHAPTER ONE
[Tazor]
"Jump!" Parsnip yelled to Tazor as Tazor looked
out the open window of the castle.
"We're on the second floor! There's no way
we could make it!" Spyder said as she watched over Tazor's shoulder.
King Marley's men had begun their attack on the castle. They had
lit the barn on fire, which was right next to the room where Tazor, Parsnip
and Spyder we're standing.
"Our only way out is to jump into the moat!" Parsnip
yelled as he once again tried to open
the locked door leading to the hallway.
"Fine! Ladies first!" Tazor said while helping Spyder
up onto the window sill. Spyder closed her eyes and jumped out yelling
all the way down. She landed in the moat, soaking wet. She
climbed out and signaled Tazor to jump. Tazor took his weapons and
jumped with his eyes closed too. Parsnip ran to the window and dove
into the moat almost landing on Tazor.
"See, I told you we would be fine," Parsnip said
while looking around. "I wonder if any of King Marley's men are still
around…"
Then, from the inside of the burning building, some
of King Marley's men ran out with their swords firmly grasped in their
hands. They saw Tazor, Spyder, and Parsnip, and ran towards them.
Parsnip and Tazor drew their swords as Spyder backed up, not wanting to
get involved. The odds were not very good, being that there was only
two of them and eight of King Marley's men. Tazor hit one of the
men in the chest with his sword, only to be absorbed by their armor.
"There's no way we can kill these guys! Run!" Tazor said as he signaled
for Spyder to keep running. They ran for about ten minutes until
they reached a forest. The men were still on their tails, though.
It seemed like they had no chance, so Parsnip stopped at a tree and closed
his eyes. From out of nowhere, arrows shot down from the tree hitting
King Marley's men in the face. Tazor looked up and saw a few men
with looking down at him.
[Spyder]
Tazor squinted up at the figures in the trees, then
smiled.
"Hey, thanks guys!" he yelled up to them.
"Don't mention it!" IDM's voice called back from
the trees as he jumped down to the ground. Eldaron1 soon followed.
"Did you get it?" Eldaron1 asked. Parsnip
reached into a small bag hidden in his cloak, and withdrew an old book
with a tattered red cover.
"Here it is," he said, tossing it toward IDM.
"Hey! Be careful with that thing!" Roland shouted
as he emerged from the trees. He took the book from IDM and opened
it, studying the pages.
"What is it, anyway?" Spyder asked.
"A book of spells," Roland replied. "But there's
only one spell I'm interested in." He finally stopped turning the
pages, and pointed to the page he was on. Crippy looked over at it.
"What kind of a spell?" he asked Roland.
Before he could answer, the sound of more troops
running toward them was heard. Roland handed the book to Parsnip,
and commanded him to hide it. Parsnip put the book back into the bag, and
drew his sword. The troops were here. Though they were outnumbered,
they were also trapped. They had to fight the troops. Tazor drew
his sword, and Crippy, Eldaron1, IDM, Roland, and Spyder followed suit.
"I sure hope that book is worth all this," IDM whispered
to Roland.
"Don't worry," Roland answered, their swords clanging
against their enemies', "it is."
[Cyclinbear]
The soldiers raised their swords and rushed towards
the group. Suddenly, one of the soldiers turned toward another soldier
and stabbed him with his sword. The rest of the group attacked the
soldiers and soon the soldiers were on the ground, covered with blood.
The soldier who helped out ran off and waved at the rest to follow.
Roland followed the soldier and the group followed after Roland.
The group headed into a forest with trees that appeared
to have faces. Suddenly IDM stopped, and said, "Hey wait a sec, why
are we going this way? Shouldn't we be heading the way we were going before?"
The helpful soldier shouted, "There's hundreds of
soldiers the way you were heading, we have to stay at my friends house
for now."
They traveled for awhile until they reached a large
fence made of wood. "Oh yes, my name is Cyclinbear," the soldier
said, as he opened the large fence. Inside was a large hut, almost
as large as a castle. Suddenly a man dropped from behind them.
"Hi Cyclinbear, who did you bring to my empire?"
the man asked.
"Oh hey 2 Dope, these are some guys against the
evil soldiers," Cyclinbear responded.
"Well it's getting late, I'll make some dinner,"
2 Dope said as he grabbed a rope which pulled him up.
[Flea]
As Cyclinbear walked inside the hut, a shadow lunged
forward and pressed a knife to his throat. "Don't move, if you wish
to live..." Flea whispered in his ear. "I'm here to collect the bounty
the empire has put on your head. You're quite valuable, you know...it's
up too 5,000 gold now...
"Who are you...wait...there is only one man you
could be. Flea, the infamous bounty hunter and assassin. We
were going to recruit you to help us, but I guess we are too late," Cyclinbear
spat.
"Now, now, don't get that way. I'm just doing
my job. It's nothing personal. Oh, and tell your friend there
not to try and creep up on me." 2 Dope slowly moved back to join
the group. "Now, I'm going to leave with him, and I don't expect
any of you to follow me...unless you don't care for his health," Flea said,
tying Cyclinbear up with a length of rope. "Perhaps we shall meet
again. I would love to test my mettle against your lot..." Flea said, as
he quietly slipped out a window, and disappeared into the night.
