Chapter 2

Bevin nervously walked to Yosukes' house after school. Ringing the doorbell she studied the modern country looking house. White with light blue trimming and two stories with a sidewalk running up to the porch. The door opened and she smiled at Yosuke.

He was wearing black pants and a white wife beater that showed off his muscles nicely. Bevin blushed as her eyes lingered and then peered inside. The stairwell was to his left and the kitchen lay at the end of the hall. To the left of that was the door to the backyard which spilled forth the late evening suns' light.

He led her to the backyard and her eyes noted family pictures on the walls with a nicely furnished kitchen. Walking out to the backyard, it hit her with the hot humidity and no wind to cool them off as crickets chirpped softly. Breathing in the wonderful air she smiled to herself as he walked out to the grass, she followed. "Alright, before I teach you how to use a katana, you need to learn some karate stances." He said with no underlying flirtations. Bevin nodded, feeling serious, she hoped she didn't mess up.

Yosuke showed her the horse stance, used in tournaments and other basic ones. After going through them a few times she got the hang of it. Now it was time to spar. "Alright," She said smiling wide as her blood began to race with adreniline. "Let's go."

He smired and nodded a little. Bringing his right foot up quickly her left arm blocked it as her right hand moved for a punch, but that was blocked. Stepping back she punched him again, almost hitting his stomach, but his left leg blocked and he kicked smoothly. Her body turned so he hit her right arm. Balance was lost and she stumbled backwards, glaring eyes met his, but no concern was held for her. He's so serious ... she thought and nodded, getting back into a stance. No room for sympathy here, only agression. The wind began to pick up as she focused, not catching the oddness of that in the back of her head, and rushed at him. Kicking her right leg straight it contacted with his stomach and he fell back. The wind whipped the trees around them more violently as a fluttering concern for him touched the back of her mind, she ignored it.

Smirking she aimed a punch for his face while he was standing up. Countering he grabbed her right arm and flipped her over. Landing squarely on her back her mouth formed a wince and she stood up, brushing off the pain and still wary of him. Shaking her head she got back into another stance as he rushed her this time. Dodging she punched him in the back and his left foot kicked back as her turned but she moved out of the way. The wind was still howling now for some reason as her blood raced even faster with excitement, she would fight forever if she could.

Bevin frowned suddenly noticing she was very hot, but something else was...different. A light blue glow was around her body, about a foot in distance. Raising an eyebrow she tried to reach it, but it moved with her arm. Feeling confusion at its greatest her eyes turned to Yosuke. He was surrounded in a dark blue glow, her mouth opened to voice a question but the glow dissapeared in another blink of her eyes.

Her head pounded and she tightly closed her eyes, trying to fight off an on coming dizzyness as well. Grey eyes opened and stared at the ground dully. Yosuke ran over to her and led her to the steps. "Are you alright?" He voiced in deep concern. "Yeah, I'm fine...." She responded softly, vaguely noting her head resting on his chest. After a few moments she shoved off lightly, mumbling apologies as she stood up. Blush crept in her cheeks and he blushed too as she glanced at him. "I should go home." Bevin said blushing more. He nodded and they walked into the house. Saying good bye she smiled, reasuring him she was fine and that she'd see him tomorrow at school.

Bevin walked back home slowly feeling more aware of something. Scanning the area quickly no one was following her. But why did she feel watched? And she seemed to feel the wind, feel it move through the trees and in the grass. Shaking her head, trying to ignore it she kept walking home.

Sighing as the door shut Yosukes' eyes wandered to the backyard door and he frowned. Looking up at the stairs he saw his grandfather coming down.

"You almost revealed yourself...." He said with a soft yet comanding voice.

"I know grandfather, I'm sorry...but...is she?" He asked, eyes hit the floor in embrassment at first and then looked to his grandfather. Sighing softly, in relief or anxiety Yosuke couldn't tell, he responded with a heavy nod, "Yes...she is one of them."

Bevin awoke the next morning feeling very relaxed from a good night sleep. Lazily her eyes noted from the light shinning through her shades that it was bright out. Turning over she curled up and her eyes shot open, panic surging through her. What time is it? What day? Argh, did I over sleep again? she thought hurridly. Sitting up she looked at the calander behind her, it was Monday, a school day, shortened schedual too. The clock read 9:10 am.

Groaning in anger she fell back on her pillow, lying snug in her warm blankets before crawling out to take a shower. That day after she went to Yosukes' house, they and the rest of the gang decided to hang out all weekend. It was pretty surprising that they bonded very quickly, excluding Laina and her boyfriend. But Bevin still hadn't told the others that she could still feel the wind or about the auras, what she now called them, around herself and possibly Yosuke. Sighing after getting out of the shower, still angry at herself, she began to dress.

"Where's Bevin?" Hang asked, who was picked up by Micky this morning. They were in Chemestry today and the teacher gave them a free day. The wind blew fiercely at 9:10 am, right when Hang voiced her question. Yosuke smirked knowingly.

"Oh, she probably just slept in." He replied, smiling more to himself. The girls nodded understanding then began to talk amongst themselves. Jayden looked at him, slightly angry. "They don't kow about us do they?" He whispered and the other two looked at Yosuke with deep worry.

"No," He replied calmly. "But my grandfather says that Bevin is one of them.... I don't know about those girls though." His head inclined towards Kate and the rest. They turned and reguarded the girls for a moment, cool, calculating stares. "I know how to test Kate." Jayden said, smirking in mischief.

Sauntering over to her he looked Kate up and down while Laina and Hang giggled and Kate blushed, smiling a bit. "You know Kate, I've been thinking, " He said thickly, staring deep in her eyes as his hand rested on hers." I...I think that..." A brief smile touched his lips and his mood switched like quicksilver. "You're ugly and boring, I can't even believe I spent the weekend with you . I'd rather die than be stuck with you again." His voice dripping in anger and disgust. Now you see, Kate isn't like most girls who would cry when something like this happens. Oh no, she gets extremely angry. You don't want to mess with her.

"What?!" She exlaimed standing up quickly. Shock stamped his features, this wasn't suppose to be. "I'm going to-" The wind rattled windows loudly again. Yosuke coughed, trying to hide his smile and laugh. He knew Bevin was probably cursing at traffic or a light by now. Jayden stumbled back from a slap Kate gave him. "I-I mean...I." Jayden trailed off, wincing inwardly that the plan backfired. "Oh yeah?!" Her voice rose and a fist slammed down on her desk. Right then a bunsen burner sitting near the sink bursted into flames, orange and blue angry flames.

Panic filled the room as the teacher took hold of a fire extinguisher, putting out the small fire. Kate's eyes blinked in shock and then focused on Jayden again. Hot anger welled up quickly inside and then another explosion happened in the chemistry lab next door, and then another.

Cursing under his breath Jaden pleaded softly for her to stop, only to be answered by a foruth explosion. Desperate he looked at Laina and Hang who nodded, trying to calm her down. Bevin then walked in, concern and confusion on her face. "Hey guys, what's happened? People are trying to stop fires in the lab...." She said standing next to Yosuke for a moment and then moving to Kate, seeing her distress, wondering what actually happened here.

Kate walked out of the room stiffly, ignoring Jayden and the girls followed her. They weren't noticed as they walked out since expolsions kept happening, teachers tried to control small chaos ensuing in the classrooms.

"I can't believe him!" Kate angrily spat, trying to control her temper and also not to cry. "It's alright, I mean he's not worth it." Hang said, putting her arm around Kate. "Yeah, I mean you don't need him." Laina added. Bevin watched on, feeling sympathy, but not being much for consoling some people verbally, she watched and gave Kate a shoulder pat with a funny face. Kate laughed a little, wipping tears from the corners of her eyes.

"Thanks guys." She said. They grinned, Bevin the most while saying something stupid, so they all laughed more. Then Jayden came out of the room, tension was thick in the air. Raising an eyebrow and then grinning, Bevin walked past him, dragging Laina and Hang back into the room. "Hey!-" Kate started and then Bevin grinned, seeming to know more than her, then slipped back into the room.

Kates' glare deepened as Jayden just stood next to her. Suddenly Kate became very hot and a red aura surrounded her like Bevin. Jaydens' eyes widened as a light blue glow formed around him. Frantic he looked at everyone, who didn't pay any mind to the oddity for some reason. "What?" Kate began. "I-It's nothing. Just-" Jayden tried to calm her down. Kate winced as a headache came upon her aura faded and Jayden held her against him to keep her from falling, his aura fading as well.
