Awesome Tiger

The largest living cat in the world is the Siberian Tiger. Creeping to 30 or 80 feet of its victim, the tiger pounces and grabs the prey by the neck with it's back feet still planted firmly on the ground. In winter the tiger's coat loses it's color. That helps it blend in with it's snow-covered habitat. Tigers mate at any time during the year. Cubs are less then a year old before they start to hunt. At 2 years of age they can kill large prey, but will not leave their mother until they are 3-5 years old. At six months old, cubs often accompany their mother on hunting trips. Siberian tigers occupy a very large territory. Many tigers may occupy the same territory. Only male tigers defend their territory against other males. Fearsome jaws of the Siberian tiger bring instant death to their victim. Siberian tigers are larger than it's relative the Bengal tiger, which has a darker coat.
