(Handwritten letter)

Dec. 21 1945
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sattler

We appreciated your Christmas Card more than we can express. We shall ever be grateful to you and have hope someday to visit you. Due to gas and tire rationing we didn't get to make the trip, and transportation by rail is impossible, but will still plan to make the trip someday to see the spot where our precious son met his death.

Our hearts are still frozen and numb, but we are trying to carry on as Pat Jr. would have us to do.

If you ever come to Texas we shall feel hurt if you fail to make us a visit. I know you could tell us so much and we would like to the opportunity to show you our appreciation for all you did.

We hope you will enjoy all the blessings of Christmas and the New Year will be peaceful and prosperous for you.

Your Friends

Mr and Mrs Pat N Roberts
