Hans Christian Oersted was a chemist from Denmark. He was born in Langeland, Denmark August 14, 1777, and he died in Copenhagen March 9, 1851. Throughout his life time he accomplished many things. Oersted scientifically studied in depth electromagnetism and in the compressibility of fluids and gases. One thing that interested and influenced him deeply was philosophy.
