(written by Lacy) "Get off of me, you big galloot!" Jade screamed as the big security guard finally caught up to her and grabbed her around the waist, struggling not to lose his grip. "It's okay, I know her," Jess said, struggling not to laugh out loud at her friend's obvious dismay. "Big jerk," Jade mumbled under her breath after the security guard had left. "Jade, what are you doing?" Jess asked, trying to keep the smirk off her face. "I came here to tell you the best thing that has ever happened to me, and intended to do so with dignity until that bruit started chasing me!" Jade defended herself. "It's his job not to let crazy people like you into the building," Jess laughed. "Anyhow, what's the news?"
Jade was about to tell her when she noticed the cute guy standing next to her best friend. "Jess, is there something you're not telling me?" she asked, forgetting about her news for a minute. "Oh, yeah, I almost forgot. You're never gonna believe it Jade, but I got the job of training the Flyers!" Jess grinned. "Oh-my-God, Jess, that's so great! I'm so happy for you!" Jade gushed, giving her best friend a hug. "Jade, this is Eric Lindros, the captain of the Flyers. Eric, this is my best friend, Jade Green," Jess said, introducing them both. "Nice to meet you," they echoed, shaking hands. "Jade, how about we go home so you can tell me what you have to tell me there," Jess suggested. "Good idea, we have to start packing anyway," Jade said, recieving a very curious look from Jess.

"Okay Jade, enough suspense! What's going on?" Jess asked as they entered their apartment. "We haven't unpacked these boxes yet? Sheesh, what have we been doing all week?" Jade asked, throwing her purse on the one chair that had been delivered so far and entering her bedroom. Jess sighed and followed her best friend into the biggest bedroom of the two. "How come you get the biggest bedroom?" Jess asked, looking around at the light blue and green walls that surrounded them. "Because blue and green are my favorite colors and since these walls were already painted the way I want them and yours are white so you can paint them anyway you want to, I got this one and you got the other one," Jade said matter-of-factly while going through the dozens of boxes that covered her hardwood floor and throwing random pieces of clothing onto her bed beside her 3 suitcases she had sprawled out. "And I like hardwood and you don't. Here, this is yours," she finished, handing Jess a box of clothes.
Jess sighed and dropped the box outside the door. She knew what Jade was doing. She did it everytime she had something big to say. Jade liked to keep her listeners in suspense and surprise them when the right time came. Jade loved surprises. Jessica guessed that's what made her such a good writer. Sitting down on the bed and blocking Jade from the suitcases, Jess crossed her arms and gave her a "you-better-tell-me-before-I-tickle-you" look. Jade hated to be tickled. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you!" Jade screamed before Jess could even come remotely close to her. "I just found out today that I get to interview Jive Records and submit it to Rolling Stone magazine!" she barely got out before Jess was screaming and hugging her with excitement. "That's great! But... why are we packing?" Jess asked. "That's the best part. The interview is to take place at the official Jive building in Orlando, Florida!" Jess was screaming again and both of them were jumping up and down. "Oh, wow! But-" Jess started, but Jade cut her off. "I know what you're thinking. And the reason you're going is because Josh and my editor said I can take anyone I need to assist me on this interview, and who better to be my personal assistent than my best friend?" "Jade, this is so cool! You're the greatest! Have I ever told you that?" Jess rambled on. Jade just laughed. "Hang-on," Jess said suddenly. "What?" Jade asked, "It's an all-expense-paid trip, if that's what you're worried about."
"No, that's not it. I just got this new job, Jade. I can't just leave as soon as I start! What is my boss gonna think?" Jess worried. "No problem," Jade said, "We don't leave until Monday. That gives you 3 days to suck-up to the people you need to talk to. And it's the weekend anyway, you have nothing planned. Schedule a training session with the Flyers tomorrow and Sunday and get someone to fill-in for you for about the next month." "A month? An entire month in Florida? Just for an interview?" Jess asked unbelievably. "That's what they tell me. Hey, Jess, if you don't wanna go, I'll understand. I mean, this is your dream job, I can't expect you to just drop everything to go to Florida when you just started," Jade said. "Jade, thanks for understanding. I wanna go really bad, though," Jess said. "Well Jess," Jade said, "you have a decision to make. Either stay here and train the Flyers, or go with me to Florida. Who knows, I may even run into the Backstreet Boys." Jessica's eyes widened at the thought of coming face-to-face with her favorite band. But she had obligations here in Philadelphia, too. Jess sighed in frustration, but made up her mind and came to her final decision...
