"Hey Josh, how ya doin'?" Jade Green asked the cute young man standing in her office as she walked in and dropped the box of files she was carrying onto the floor. She wrinkled her nose as she collapsed in her swivel chair and the smell of fresh paint overwhelmed her. "When are they gonna get my new desk in here, anyway? And just how many more coats of paint do they plan on putting on my walls?" she continued, not waiting for his first response. "Fine," he said, closing the door. "Fine what? Josh! Why are you closing the door? It smells in here as it is!" she said, spinning her chair around in circles like a little girl. "I'm doing fine. And I closed the door because I have something to tell you," he said, laughing at her childishness. "Well, can't you tell me with the door open? I'm gonna die of toxic fumes before you get all you have to say out of your mouth," she said, grabbing her throat dramatically as a sign she was choking.
Josh grinned and grabbed the arms of her chair. "Hey!" she said, giving him a dirty look for ruining her fun. "C'mon Jade, I'm serious," he said, letting her chair go. "Fine, fine. But why do you have to keep the door closed?" she asked, giving in to him and crossing her arms across her chest. "So the people in the rest of the buliding don't hear you scream when I tell you what I came here to tell you," he replied, trying to keep a straight face when he caught the glimmer of surprise in her shiny green eyes.
"They're giving me an interview, aren't they? Josh, tell me they're giving me an interview," she said, trying to keep her voice low-key so he couldn't hear the shakiness in it. She had only been at this news firm for a few weeks, but already she was getting itchy feet. She wanted--no, she needed to write something. Her hands shook at the idea of opening up a newspaper and seeing an article she wrote on the front page. "Josh?" she asked again, getting a little uneasy under his gaze. "They're giving you an interview," he said finally. "YES!!!" she screamed, jumping into his arms. "Oh, thank-God! Finally, I'm gonna be able to see something I actually wrote on the cover of the Philadelphia Press!" "Well Jade, see, it's not gonna be for the Press," Josh interupted, watching her face fall. "What do you mean?" she asked, searching frantically for something to keep her optimism high. "Well, ya see, the Press has a writing contract with Rolling Stones magazine, and whenever they want an interview for an article written, they get to use one of our reporters," he said.
"You mean I'm gonna be interviewing and writing an article for Rolling Stones magazine? Josh, Oh-my-God, this is better than writing one for the paper!" she gushed. "Just think of who it could be; Elton John, Journey, Metallica, Bush, the Backstreet Boys..." she stopped and smiled at the thought of her favorite band. "Actually, it's with a recording label. Ever heard of Jive Records?" Josh asked. "Jive? Jive Records? THE Jive Records? Josh, who HASN'T heard of it?" she said, getting more excited by the moment. "Oh-my-God, does this mean I'm gonna be traveling to Orlando, Florida?" she asked. "Yeah, is that gonna be a problem?" Josh asked, writing something down on his notepad. "Does this mean it's gonna be an all-expense-paid trip for whoever I take with me?" she asked, thinking fast and ignoring the later. "Yeah, take whatever crew you need. Photographers, journalists, writers; whoever," he replied. "And how long would we stay there?" she asked, calculating in her head. "Anywhere from a week to a month, depending on what all they want you to do," Josh said, looking up from his yellow pad of paper he'd been scribbling on. "When do we leave?" she asked, looking him in the eye. "I'll call the magazine, you get everybody around you plan to take and everything you're gonna need and be ready by Monday, can you do that?" he asked. "Not only can I do it, but I'll do it without anyone having to ask me twice," she replied with a smile on her face.

Three days... in three days I'm gonna be in my dream place with my best friend, interviewing the hottest record label on the charts, she thought to herself as she drove to the small apartment her and her best friend Jessica shared. Little did Josh and everybody else at the paper know, but Jade and Jess had been planning on going to Florida the following month for a short vacation away from their new lives. They had just moved to Philadelphia a few weeks ago when Jess had asked Jade to come with her when she tried out for her dream job of training the Philadelphia Flyers. Jade went without any objections, and she was glad that she did because she had found her dream job as a writer/reporter for the Philadelphia Press. And now she had her first interview... she had to get home and tell Jess the good news--that they would be going to Florida not only a month early, but without having to pay anything in the process!
