(written by Lacy) "I've never seen anyone drool so much in my life," Jade laughed as she and Kevin picked on the guys' sleeping habits. "Yeah, Howie's got a nack for drowning himself in his sleep," Kevin said, smiling at Jade. "Yeah, but look at AJ! The poor guy's gonna get a mouthfull of spit here in about 2 seconds!" Jade said, pointing to the floor. AJ lay on the floor beside the recliner with his mouth hanging open as Howie was layed out over it with his head hanging over the edge and a wet spot on the arm of the chair where his drool had fallen.
"That's so gross," Jade said, shaking her head. "Take a look at Nicky over there," Kevin said, pointing to the blond head that just peaked around the edge of the couch where they were sitting. "Oh my God, is he breathing?" Jade asked. "Yeah, he's a little strange," Kevin said. Nick was laying with his face straight down in one of the couch pillows with his arms stretched straight out over his head on the floor. Jade smiled. She had grown very fond of Nick over the past few weeks--he was the brother she never had. Given, he was younger than her, but he was just like an older brother. She liked having someone to watch over her like that.
"Penny for your thoughts," Kevin said, directing her attention back to him. "I'm afraid it's gonna cost more that that, Mr. Richardson," she said, smiling. "How much more?" he asked, directing his intense gaze at her. She just looked at him. She didn't know why, but she felt as if someone had just knocked the air right out of her lungs. "Probably more than you're willing to give," she said breathlessly. "For some reason, I doubt that," he said. And not waiting to see her reaction to his words, he placed his hands on either side of her face and placed his lips upon hers.
Jade gasped in surprise as she realized what was happening. This was something she definately hadn't planned on. Yes, Jess had told her that Kevin liked her, but she hadn't expected it to be true. Sighing unintentionally, she gave in to herself and did something she had only dreamed of doing. She kissed him back.
