e (Jim & Judy) made a trip to DisneyWorld & Cape Kennedy (Christmas gift from the Sheppards) in August to visit with the Sheppards. Jesse was our "Tour Guide." The last time we were there was when our country was celebrating the Bicentennial. Much has changed since then. We don't know who enjoyed it more, Jesse or us watching Jesse's excitement. e finally invested in the technology which we have been involved with for years - a computer. Judy has been busy with designing & inputting home pages for work & personal. This summer, James helped Dr. Hilgers with his antique radio auction. James & Doc are now piddling with remodeling a 1930 Model-A Ford pick-up.

e (Jim, Judy, Jeff & Kim Blain) were able to help Dr. John celebrate the awarding of his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins. That's two doctorates in the family now (the other one being Steven Worm). Jesse, age 5, is planning on receiving one SOON!

e also celebrated Tina & Kim's birthdays. Then some of us visited the B&O (Baltimore & Ohio Railroad) Museum , Fort McHenry, & toured D.C. in a Trolley. All had a very enjoyable visit.

Since we last visited with you via our holiday greeting letter (a couple of years ago), all of us except Jeff are still located in the same location. Jeff now lives in the "BIG" town of Lenora, KS, working as an Internet Help Desk Technician for the Rural Net division of Rural Telephone. Lenora located south of Norton & north of Hill City is actually smaller than Lone Wolf, OK. He recently went to D.C., where he learned about the Cisco Routing System. He still enjoys concerts & just went to see the Aerosmith concert in Wichita.

This holiday is going to be rather quiet compared to this last Thanksgiving & Christmas. The Sheppards, Jeff & Mom (Ida Hohmann) came to Hays for Thanksgiving. It was pleasant weather; thank goodness the storms missed us that week! We are planning a quick trip to Lone Wolf for Christmas & Judy will be going for her Mom's second eye operation the 31st. Judy may also be called for jury duty.

Last Christmas, we (James, Judy, Jeff & Idonna Leach) met The Sheppards in Denver for a "Rocky Mountain High!" We invaded Idonna's son & daughter-in-law's home, Jarold & Mary (only Mary was in Canada). Tina & Jeff skied some blacks (difficult slopes) while Jesse & Judy snow-plowed down the hills. John had a "bum" knee & James was the supervisor & worrier.

In 1996, The Pape Family Reunion was in Shawnee, OK, hosted by John & Lisa Krywicki (Ray & Shirley's daughter) at their new beautiful home. All three sisters (Jana, Kristi & Lisa) live within a couple of miles of each other. In 1998, the reunion will be in Missouri hosted by David & Susan Meiners (Paul & Mrytle's daughter).

Sadly, Jesse just lost his Boomer Kitty while we lost Bellé (cat) in 1996 & Rocky (dog) in 1997.
