More about Evelyn St. Claire!
Well although there is not much to know about yours truly, there may be some questions as to who I am and why I decided to undertake this hobby of writing about people I don't even know, LOL!
The girl in the above banner is me, Evelyn St. Claire. I don't like to put pictures of myself up since I'm an incredibly shy person, but at the request of an online friend (who says I look like Stephanie, but I don't think I'm THAT pretty) I made one banner of myself so the readers could get a better idea of who I am.
So who am I? Well, as you already may know my two biggest time-wasters are literature and sports, preferrably sports entertainment. I am 19 years old and I have been watching the World Wrestling Federation ever since I was 4, making it a big 15 years that I have been viewing this wonderful promotion! When I'm not watching wrestling or writing, I'm a student and a countergirl at The Buckle, a trendy little mall store in Topeka, KS.
Enough about my impressingly normal life! What about the mind of this crazy girl that likes to write about pro-wrestlers? It seems pretty obvious that I enjoy Chris Jericho (or Chris Irvine, or CJ, or Our Hero, whatever you'd like to call him) and have followed his career for quite some time. The reason I picked CJ as one of the main characters in my story is because of his diversity. The guy's pretty smart and has his hand in various activities. He's an entertainer on so many levels, such as sports and music. He speaks numerous languages. He's just a really fun guy and I think people like CJ are diamonds in the rough. They deserve to be looked at with more attention, and therefore I've made him my "star" of some sorts.
I've chosen Stephanie McMahon to be the heroine of my first two stories mainly because of her natural beauty (there's not enough "role models" for us regular girl fans today, sans Stephanie and maybe a few others) as well as the mystery about her. Just like CJ, there's only limited information provided on this character. No one knows much about Stephanie even though she's the daughter of the most powerful man in sports entertainment. So since there's a mystique about her and what goes on in her lovely head, it makes it easier for me to write about her without having to ask myself whether or not Stephanie would do this or that if put in a certain situation.
As for the stories themselves, I started The Initiated in Summer 1999 after CJ first signed with the World Wrestling Federation. I was very excited at the prospect of one of my favorite WCW people making the jump to the "big boat" as I like to call it, and then my mind started working around all these ideas of the people Chris would be meeting and the situations he'd be getting himself into. That's how I created the storyline between CJ, Chyna (or Joanie, whichever you prefer), and the rest of the "Kliq" members, or the WWF's Degeneration X for those that are here under NO pretense as a wrestling fan, LOL! By the way, if you've been following the internet newsboards, you'll notice that many rumors are going around that make this storyline a little true lately. I guess life really does imitate art? =) For those that are just now reading the story, please stick with it. I know it gets a little bogged down at times but it is my first fan-fic, and I've promised myself someday I shall retouch the whole story. Maybe this time it will have actual chapters and not serial-style "parts!" =)
I began Dark Journey right after I finished Initiated in Fall 1999. The reason I picked a more "dirty" subject matter is simply because of the fact that it's what goes on behind the scenes, like it or not. There's a lot of drug use and sexual abuse going on back there, and the reason you don't hear much about it is because it's so implied and the talent has gotten so used to it that it's kind of a given, especially in the Philly-based Extreme Championship Wrestling. I wanted to put Chris and Stephanie in this situation just to see what I could do with them and if this was pretty believable to any of the readers. So far I've gotten good feedback on it, so we'll see where this road takes us. =)
Well, if I haven't bored you completely yet, I thank you for taking this time to stop by and read a little more about me! Once again, thank you for visiting my archive. I like sharing my story and ideas with others, and I hope that you'll share some of your ideas and work with me as well!
