My aim is to have a digest of what’s going on in the Vincentian and wider Caribbean community. Conferences, milestones and any happenings that is important to us. While I will try to verify the accuracy and location of events posted here, I cannot guarantee that at the time of your viewing of this page all the particulars will still be up-to-date. The information will be drawn from friends, newspapers and other websites. All information, where possible, will all be credited. May 8, 1902: The Mont Pelée volcano in Martinique erupted taking the lives of all the residents of St. Pierre.

 

May 21, 2006: The first possible meeting between the two Vincentian young ladies in the WNBA. Sophia Young and the San Antonio Silver Stars take on Sancho Lyttle and the Houston Comets.

 

May 24, Emancipation day in Belize.

July 7, 2006: Sophia Young & San Antonio Silver Stars take on Sancho Lyttle & the Houston Comets.

 

July 18, 2006: The last meeting of the season between Sophia Young & the San Antonio Silver Stars and Sancho Lyttle & the Houston Comets in Houston.

 

September 2006: Dance Festival Month in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.

 

Oct. 14, 1983: A political coup, often referred to as The Coard Coup, in Grenada got on the way. Grenada’s vice-premier, Bernard Coard, led the coup.

 

Oct 19, 1983: Maurice Bishop, premier of Grenada dies in the bloody Coard Coup.

 

October 27, 1979 St. Vincent & the Grenadines gained independence.

 

November 1 & 2: All Saints and All Souls Day.

 

December 16-24, 2006: the annual Nine Mornings Celebration, a unique Vincy Pre-Christmas celebration.
