Dreams Come True - Chapter 1

Chapter 1

As Dolly sat down plunking notes on her keyboard, she heard her friend Beatrice open her garage door.
"Finally, your here," their friend Hope said. Beatrice rolled her eyes and said,
"You try carrying a 500 pound guitar eight blocks."
"Oh, stop whining and get set up," said Hope. " You made Dolly wait so long her mind is probably on Mars by now."
It was true. Unless there was something to keep her busy, Doll would have crazy daydreams. As Beatrice looked into Dolly's eyes and saw the far away, dreamy look on her face, she realized that Dolly was probably dreaming of Hollywood, instead of practicing her chords.
"Earth to Dolly! Come in Dolly!" said Beatrice.
"Oh! Sorry!" Said Dolly. She sighed.
"You interrupted me at the best part! I was at the school dance, and. . ."
"We know the rest!" chuckled Hope. " Taylor carried you off and sang 'I will come to you' in your ear."
"How did you guess!" joked Dolly. As Dolly looked around, she beamed with happiness. She had always loved playing the piano. And her friend Hope practically grew up banging on the drums. Not to mention Beatrice, who spent more time strumming her guitar than anything else. When she and her friends had first heard the song 'MMMBop' They had instantly fallen in love (with the song and the guys!). That was what gave Dolly the idea to start a band. And although she, Beatrice, and Hope hadn't sung that much, they realized that when they tried, they were pretty good. And that was why, three times a week, the friends met in Dolly's garage to practice, gossip about Hanson, and exchange new song ideas.

"All right! a 1,2,3,4!" shouted Hope Forrest . Beatrice Santacroache started strumming out the chords to 'A Minute Without You'. Hope joined in on her drums, then Dolly Ahluwalia on her keyboard. Soon Beatrice started singing the familiar tune. After the girls had practiced for nearly an hour, Dolly, being her usual dramatic self, collapsed on the floor.
"Need break," she choked out. Beatrice and Hope laughed and pulled her up from the ground. Dolly staggered up to a couch in mock exhaustion and sat down ( Her parents kept a big, ratty, couch in their garage). Beatrice and Hope sat down beside her.
"We sound really good now," said Hope.
"Definetly," agreed Beatrice. Just then, the girls heard a loud, rumbling noise. A U-haul truck pulled up to the house next door. Dolly opened her garage door so that the girls could get a better view.
"What's going on?" said Hope.
"Some people moved into the house next door," said Dolly.
"Hmm..... wonder if any cute boys will move in next door," said
Beatrice. "In my dreams!" responded Dolly.
"Hey, wait. I just thought of something," said Hope, "Do you think they'll mind? That we're practicing our music outside. I mean, my neighbors would be pretty annoyed." Dolly shrugged. " I guess we'll just have to wait and see," she said. The girls started talking again, and soon got on their favorite subject. Hanson.

Taylor Hanson stepped out of his families red truck. He looked around.
"Pretty nice place," he said. His little brother Zac soon came running out their front door.
"Cool! I love this place! It even has a pool!" exclaimed Zac.
"Finally, we can all have our own rooms!" said Isaac Hanson.
"If I had to share a room with Zac one more day I think I would go bananas!"
Zac started hopping around the lawn making ape noises.
"Bananas good," said Zac. Ike and Taylor started laughing.
"Cut it out!" said Tay, "Mom said to ask the neighbors over for dinner."
Taylor looked around. He missed Tulsa, but to him and his brothers, moving was a way of life. So when their father told them that they were moving to Gaithersburg, Maryland, the boys didn't mind too much. But going up to a stranger and asking them to dinner was kind of awkward for Tay. He wasn't as outgoing as his brothers, and although he made friends easily, he was still sometimes shy around new people. His brothers, however, were not.
"Let's go!" shouted Zac. He started marching to the house next door. Ike shrugged and gave Tay a 'What can we do' look. Then he followed Zac. Taylor sighed and reluctantly walked behind Ike.
"Just Please, god, don't let them be teenage girls who have heard of us," muttered Taylor.
When he found Zac, he was peering through a window at three teenage girls.
"You will not believe what's going on in there," said Ike.
"This is really rude guys. I'm not going to be a part of it," replied Tay.
"Come on, Tay! Listen! I think that they're talking about us!" Said Ike.
"Oh, no,"groaned Taylor. But when he looked through the window, even he couldn't help laughing at what he saw.
