Electric Guitar
I love the guitar. There is nothing like an electric to really "kick out the jams"... It's kinda hard to play "Born To Be Wild" or "Jesus Freak" on an acoustic. I used to have a red '80s Fender Stratocaster, but it got stolen. So now I'm rocking on a Toyota (not the car company) jazz guitar. It ROCKS!!! I also have a Cort Strat wannabe that actually sounds pretty decent and looks SWEET!!! I'm also currently playing on a Peavey 150 watt 12 inch guitar amp (note: I just got my MARSHALL Valvestate 8080...) using a DOD Supra Distortion, a Ibanez Delay, an Arion Flanger, and a Morley Volume/wah. I used to run through a 200 watt Fender 12" amp and a Zoom 505 pedal, but those got stolen. And I dream of owning a 2x12 Marshall amp... Acoustic Guitar
Originally, I played on a 1978 Alvarez acoustic, but that got stolen as well. Well, luckily, on my way through a music store on the way back to a pawn shop... (long story) Anyhow, I passed up Taylors and Takamines and grabbed my baby, a newer (early 90s) Alvarez acoustic/electric with active pickups... oh, baby...
Bass
Yup, yup, yup. I play this puppy for jazz band and our show choir... I have a... what is it... Checkmate, I think the brand is... Anyway, I PLAY on a Washburn bass and through a Crate bass amp. I'm actually figuring out what those dumb little dots on my music mean... (bad drummer joke)
Drums
I have been playing the drums since 5th grade and the drum set since 7th... and I've had the same set for that long, too. It's a no-name 4 piece jazz set that I've since tweaked out. I USED to have a 6 piece Paiste cymbal set that went along with it, but everything but my hi-hats got stole along with everything else above. So now I'm stuck with a pair of hats. Oh well. I dream of a Tama or Pearl...
Keyboard
I use my expertise in guitar to translate to keyboard. So if you hear a lot of suspended chords, that's my guitar training coming through. Currently I play on an Kawai (I think) and on a Kurzweil...
Percussion
When it comes to percussion, I love it all. From tympani to vibraphone, from marching band to concert, I'm a percussionist. Actually, right now I'm working on my second xylophone solo to take to state... I also lead our school percussion ensemble. Lots o fun...
Strings
Okay, okay. I know I said that I was a percussionist, and I am. But the big band dude told me to play the ole Cello, so I's doin' as I's told... That's what I'm playing for the moment, as the cocert band prepares for State...
