To celebrate our 5th anniversary (this one has signifigance since first marriages did not last 5 years added together) We went to Waikiki Beach Hawaii. Very pretty place...I have a lot of pictures of our week here!
Day 1 - Arrival

1. Taken from the plane flying over Denver. 2. Honolulu...there are buildings and houses practically stacked on top of each other with a beautiful mountain backdrop. 3. A view of our hotel The Outrigger Reef on The BeachThis hotel has 2 really good restaraunts. We ate breakfast at one (great omelettes) and the other one we had supper at more than once...You got to cook your own steak.

4. This is the view from our lania...a partial ocean view. 5. Looking back at Waikiki beach from the far end of the pier. 6. Diamond Head volcano at dusk. We did not take the hike to the top.

Day 2

1. We took a submarine ride to go see the fish and reef and sunken ships...that was neat. This picture was taken on the way back to the pier on the boat/ship, whatever you want to call it. 2. We went to a luau and this picture was taken when we got off the bus. My luau pictures did not turn out so well, but it was fun. I realized that drinking mai tai's was not for me and instead chose lava flows as my drink of choice!

Day 3

1. This is the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. It was very touching to go here, but also kind of creepy knowing that their were alot of soldiers entombed in the submarine just below the surface of the water. You could still see oil on the water that is leaking 64 years later from the sub. 2. This is the only peice of the USS Arizona that is above the water level.
3. All of the names of soldiers that died on December 7, 1941 are on this wall. 4. The flag above the memorial.
1. The USS Missouri on the boat ride to the Arizona Memorial. 2. After we went to the AZ Memorial we went to the USS Missouri for a tour. These are the guns. 3. This is just an awsome picture of the massive chain on the deck.
Day 4
We didn't do much of anything on Saturday. We walked around in downtown Waikiki for awhile and people watched at the beach and then Robby wanted to go back to the hotel to watch the race in Daytona. (There is a 4-6 hour time difference in Hawaii, so the night race was coming on in the middle of the afternoon) While he was watching it I went souvenir shopping in The International Market Place. I wondered around aimlessly for hours and when I got back to the hotel the race was delayed due to rain...so we watched it and then went to Planet Hollywood for supper. It was a lot of hype and way too pricey.
Day 5 On Sunday, we took an Island tour.
1. Hanauma Bay - a well known place to go snorkeling and and stuff. 2. Halona Blowhole - We actually got to see the water spray up, just like it does when a whale does it. 3. This is eaither Sandy Beach or Makapuu Beach, whichever it is (I don't remember) a scene from a famous love story was filmed here. 4. Nuuanu Pali Lookout - This is looking out over a golf course. 5. The golf course is where we ate lunch (wasn't the best lunch, but the view was great and made up for it)6. This looks like a scene right out of Jurrasic Park (which was filmed near this place) we also saw the little island where LOST is being filmed. 7. Byodo-In Temple - This is a temple, very nice to look at. 8. We were walking down the path to leave and I happened to look over and see this woman tucked away painting the temple in the most serene setting you could imagine. I asked if I could take her picture and she said sure. 9. Our last stop was the Dole Pineapple Plantation, where we had the best pineapple ice cream ever.
We were very surprised every place we ate you got a side of pineapple. Even at McDonald's, you get a side of pineapple with each meal your order.
Sunday night I was finally able to get a sunset picture off the beach.

Day 6

We left on Monday July 4th. I was not well on the flight home...Robby took these pictures out the plane window leaving Oahu.
