In March of 2000, Lisa, Thomas, and I went to Galveston Island, TX. We had so much fun. We left on a Friday and went to Oklahoma City where we stayed the night and went to the zoo and the children's museum.

I think this baby gorilla now lives at the Wichita, KS Zoo. They brought gorillas in from OKC. This tooth chair was really neat at the hands on Children's museum.
On saturday morning we got up and went horse back riding on a ranch outside of OKC.

We then headed to Vernon, TX to see my grandma and then to Seymour, TX where I met up with my cousin Misty, who I was able to follow to Dallas, TX. We stayed the night at her apartment and on Monday she went to Six Flags with us.

Misty and I had our picture taken as saloon girls and then me and the kids were respectable pillars of a colonial community.

When we left Six Flags, we headed south. Next stop Galveston Island, TX. We had to be there by 11:00pm to check into our hotel. We made it barely, without stopping to eat. Lisa and Thomas got their First What-a-burger meal. (We don't have those in Kansas.)
Lisa and Thomas on our paddlewheel boat ride on a rainy day and some guys on the beach being goofy.
We stayed in Galveston until Friday and then we went back to Vernon until Sunday and headed home. It was a great week with only one major mishap (the car overheated on the way home.)
