Sophia is a divine female figure who is independent of the general accepted tradition of God. In Gnosticism, Sophia is the youngest offspring of God. Her passion or desire for knowledge becomes the source and substance for this world. She is deeply tied in to the idea of meeting the Goddess face-to-face.
