A HandFasting Ritual

** Light The North Candle.**

HP: "Guardian of the East, Ancient one of Air, We call you to this circle. With clever fingers weave tightly the bonds of Heart, Spirit and Love between these two! Let none undo the fabric of their love for as long as the stars remain in the sky!"

**Light The East Candle.**

HPS: "Guardian of the South, Ancient one of Fire, We call you to this circle. Ignite the Passion and the Love for this pair. Like the Sun, ever burning, yet never consuming one or the other!"

** Light The South Candle.**

HP: "We are here today to celebrate, to witness, to bless, and to receive the blessing of this handfasting. Together they weave their commitment with trust, support, and with fidelity. It is a commitment based upon love, affection, and an instinctive bonding between two people. This bonding is of the physical body, is of the human personality, and is of the inner, spiritual being."

HPS: "Marriage is the most intense of human relationships wherein the partners act as mirrors for one another. Where you sow or expect hurt, misunderstanding, rejection, or isolation, so you will find it in each other. But where you sow or expect love, trust, generosity, support, and affection, so you will find these qualities in one another. Know that when you love each other perfectly, you will have grown to love all life perfectly."

Hp: "Let us now lift up our hearts and our thoughts as we call to the Great Mother of all things that through her we might find the highest ideals of love and of marriage - and let these ideals incarnate now in this time and place."

Hps: "Let us now lift up our hearts and our thoughts as we call to the Great Father of all things that through him we might find the highest ideals of love and of marriage - and let these ideals incarnate now in this time and place."

** Bride & Groom are Anointed with Oil **

Hp: "Who comes to be joined in the presence of the Goddess? What is your name?"

Groom: "My name is ______."

Hps: "Who comes to be joined in the presence of the God? What is your name?"

Bride: "My name is ________."

Hp: "_____ and ______, we greet you with joy."

** Hp joins the Couple's hands and Binds them with Cord **

Hps: "The binding of the hands symbolizes the willingness of the couple to act as one in their life together. As your hands are joined with this cord, know it is your will to be united and to love and cherish one another through all lifetimes. With this binding I tie you, heart to heart, together as one. With this knot you are joined in sacred union. "

Hp: "O ye guardians of the gate, O powerful God, O gentle Goddess, witness now the union of these two! By this magick circle, by Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, by the sun, by the moon, and their children the stars do these souls come together to share life in its sorrow, its joy, sharing strength, peace, and wisdom! In perfect love and perfect trust, equal before one another.
