Epona was the Celtic Horse Goddess.Worshiped by the ancient nomadic Celts as a deity for fertility, freedom, and creativity. She is also linked to other goddesses such as the Welsh "Rhiannon" and the Irish "Macha". There are more inscriptions, statues and shrines to Epona than any other Celtic god or goddess. Epona was adopted by the Romans, and was integrated side-by-side with other Roman Gods and Goddesses on their ancient altars |
