Cybele was a Great Mother Earth Goddess. It is thought by some she existed at least 8,000 years or more. Later Cybele became identified with fertility, and with unrestrained sexuality, rather then just being an Earth Mother Goddess. As a Fertility, or Nature Goddess, she was best known for having total control over all the wild things of the Earth. She could also send
and heal diseases, give oracles, and protect her people in times of war.
