How does the sale work? Local families price, hang, and bring in their gently used baby, kid, young adult, and maternity clothes and accessories, toys, bedding, books, movies, etc... and sell them to other local families. You make money by selling your gently used items and save big by buying at our sale - it's a win-win situation for everyone! Who can consign their items and become a seller? Anyone who would like to make some extra money selling their gently used items! How do I consign? First, contact us at KIDSCASTAWAYS@YAHOO.COM or (985)510-1317 to get your consignor number. Then check out our Consignor Info page for details on what we can accept and how to prepare and tag your items for sale. What items do you sell? Girl's clothing infant thru young adult, Boy's clothing infant thru young adult, Maternity, Toys, Outside and Inside play equipment, Linens and Bedding, Shoes, Bedroom Decor, Baby Equipment, Books, Bikes, Videos, anything else kid related, "hard" household furniture, and small appliances and housewares. What items will you NOT accept from consignors? RECALLED ITEMS! Car seats that have been in any accidents. Also, we will not accept items that are in poor condition. Clothing must be free from stains, tears, pulls and excessive wear. For the fall sale we will not be accepting swim wear. How many items can I bring to sell? As many items as you can part with! The only restriction we have is on stuffed animals- as they have a limit to 5 a consignor. How do I prepare my items? It's easy! Simply hang, tag, and sort your items and bring them to us! We do the rest. Visit our tagging instruction page for more detailed info. Who does the pricing? You do! You also decide whether your items will be discounted during that portion of the sale. Be sure to price them to sell! What do I need to know about dropping off my items? As long as items are tagged, on hangers, and sorted by size and gender- all you do is show up with your stuff and the rest is up to us! If I consign my items, do I have to stay during the sale? No. Consignors drop off their items and come back on FRIDAY evening to pick up their unsold items and their check. What percentage of the sales will I make? You make 70% of the selling price, minus an $8 participation fee that is deducted from your check. How can I get access to the Pre-sale? Simply volunteer 4 1/2 hours of your time and you will have access to ALL 3 worker pre-sales!!! Visit the link below for volunteer info. When can I pick up my unsold items? You may pick up your unsold items on Sun, Mon, or Tuesday. All remaining items will be donated to charity at 4pm on Tuesday Dec. 8, 2009 (Sorry, NO EXCEPTIONS). When you tag your items, you may also designate that you would like to donate unsold items to charity. (Simply put a "D" under your consigner number on each tag.) Do I have to sort through the racks to find my unsold items? No! When you pick up your unsold items on FRIDAY your items will already be sorted by your consignor number for easy pickup. What form of payment do you accept? CASH!!!! We are a cash only sale! What is your return policy? Do to the nature of the sale, all sales are final with no returns or warranties. How long does it take to receive my check? Your check is usually ready on FRIDAY night when you pick up your unsold items. If not, they will be mailed within 48 hours. Why should I consign my items with Kids Castways rather than a garage sale? A common misconception people have is that they can make just as much money selling their kid's items at a garage sale rather than consigning them. Kids Castways offers two major advantages over garage sales. First, we offer hundreds of items in all different categories all under one roof. A person would have to shop garage sales all year to find what they will find at one of our events. The second advantage is quality. We inspect all items prior to putting them on the sales floor. People know they will find quality, name-brand items at our event. People are willing to pay a little more for quality, name-brand items they will know they will find in excellent condition all in one location. Also, unlike a garage sale, you do not have to stay at the sale! You just prepare your items for the sale, drop them off during drop off time and we do the rest for you in a climate controlled environment. There is no negotiating on the prices; the price you mark on the item is the price you will receive. You have the option to decide whether you would like your items to be discounted during "discount" days. The price is set by you and is marked ahead of time when you prepare your items. |
