| Ladies and Gentlemen, I am happy to take part in this historic gathering. This (huge) gathering shows the reaction of the people after Dato' Seri Dr Anwar Ibrahim was sentenced to six years' jail this morning. In jail, he may acquire a doctorate (of philosophy). In this plural society, we struggle for just policies for all races, all ethnics, all religions and all cultures as well as all aspects of life. We have seen injustices in some fields such as the judiciary. For example, Sdr Lim Guan Eng was sentenced to jail last year. This morning, Dato' Seri Anwar met with similar fate. Do you, Ladies and Gentlemen, agree with the measurements, |
standards and criteria in the judiciary and other fields? Do you feel easy with the injustices in the systems? We all have feet of clay. We must endeavour, endeavour to make the systems more perfect (in an imperfect world). In the coming general elections, you will have a chance to make the systems better. DAP cooperates with other political parties and organizations on matters and issues which have universal values such as eradication of poverty, stamping out corruption, justice, democracy and good governance. Together, let us fight for justice in all fields. Together, let us struggle to make the systems better. Dr Tan Seng Giaw | ||||||
