| Voters' Registration (2.4.1999 to 1.5.1999) The annual registration of new voters is here again. Malaysian citizens who are 21 years old on 1.4.1999 are eligible to vote and hence to register as voters. Those who have moved to different constituencies may re-register to change their addresses. The next general elections will be held before 25.4.2000. Although we do not know the date of the next elections, we believe that all eligible voters should register. After registration, it may take up to one year before you can cast your vote, that is, if your names are actually on the electoral roll. In a democratic society, voters play a very important part to ensure justice, good governance and more equitable distribution of wealth among other things. Since the last elections on 25.4.1995, many things have happened such as the economic crisis, the imprisonment of Lim Guan Eng, the detention and trial of Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the current viral epidemic. Are you happy with what has gone on in the past few years? Would you like to do something about them? Would you like to voice your opinions? Would you like to see the Barisan Nasional Government denied the two-third majority? Please register as voters and make sure that you exercise your inalienable rights in the general elections.
Pendaftaran pemilih tanunan telah tiba. Seorang warganegara |
Adakah saudara/I hendak membuat sesuatu untuk memperbetulkannya? Adakah saudara/I mahu mengutarakan suaranya? Adakah saudara/I hendak Kerajaan Barisan Nasional hilang majoriti dua pertiga? Dr Tan Seng Giaw | ||||||
