Secondary Navigation

The Secondary Navigation Bar varies from page to page, and is divided into Section navigation and Article Navigation.

The Section Navigation Bar is always located at the bottom-left of the page and looks like this:

Each link takes you across sections on the site. The Bold text represents your current location. In this case, the user is in the Archives section of the Political Collection. Links appear and disappear, depending on the availability of the option.

The Article Navigation Bar is always located on the lower right of each page, and looks like this:

This Navigation Bar is usually only found on pages in sections with multiple articles, such as the recent, feedback and archive areas of each of the Collections. The Bold text indicates which article is currently being read. In this case, there are 5 articles, and the user is viewing article #2.

Next and Last traverse the files in sequentially ascending and descending order respectively, and offer a progressive alternative to the usual random link-hopping that characterises a typical web session.

Article Navigation is sometimes used to move between article and collection index pages as well.
