Hello, My name is Shelli :-) I'm a 40 year old divorced Mother of two wonderful sons. They are THE Loves of My Life. We live on a small patch of land we call 'Home' near Lake Texoma in Oklahoma. Besides spending time with 'The Boys' I enjoy riding, flower gardening and sitting on the front porch swing reading. I'm an avid reader and right now I am very much enjoying re-reading some of the classics I was 'forced' to read in school. Amazing, I just Don't remember these books being This interesting in Jr. High! We take life pretty slow and easy here, makes for a quiet and peaceful existence....:))
Working in my literally 'Hundreds' of feet of flower beds is My FAVORITE pasttime! I have thousands of plants and hundreds of species. I usually try to add at least one new addition a year.
That addition however may fill a 3x20 ft. bed..:))
I prefer not to have a structured look to my gardens, leaning more toward the 'wild and free flowing' look of the English Cottage style of design.
One of my favorite areas of the gardens are the Herbs. Not only are they useful in cooking and crafts, they Smell Wonderful on a warm afternoon:)
I also have several Rose Gardens that would put some Commercial Growers to Shame!!
I've learned how to propagate hardwoods, i.e. shrubs and trees. This is great fun and saves a Bundle on the purchase of new plants!
