PROPHESYING TO THE INANIMATE

(And Breaking Curses On Inanimate Objects)

"In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: For he bringeth down them that dwell on high; the lofty city, he lays it low; even to the ground; he bringeth it even to the dust.

The foot shall tread it down, even the feet of the poor, and the steps of the needy. The way of the just is uprightness: thou most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. Yea in the way of your judgments, O Lord have we waited for thee; the desire of our soul is to thy name, and to the remberance of thee. With my soul I have waited for thee in the night, yea with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness." (Isaiah 26:1)

Buildings in the downtown area of our cities are patrolled by security guards or night watchmen, who perform routine checks and are always on the alert for anything suspicious. In fact recently, the Lord recently gave an intercessor a vision of a downtown office building and called them to prayer concerning this. This came to me as a very strong impression. God may have wanted the night watchman there to be very alert concerning his duties, on this particular date. In scripture prophets prophesied to the elements, such as wood, earth and stone, wind, water and even "to dry bones."

In Old Testament scripture, we learn of the significance of the watchman on the walls. The watchman stood upon the city wall as a look out who watched to see when there was an enemy coming. If the watchmen fell asleep or left his post unguarded, the city would be vulnerable to attack. If at least one watchman was awake to sound the alarm when the enemy was sighted, the entire army could be roused to fight. This is why God gave us the pattern of an intercessor in Messiah. His gave His church a prophetic commission to watch and pray, promising that He would show us thngs to come. (John 16:13)

Ezekiel was by the River Chebar when God opened the heavens to him and he was given visions from God, which were both good news and bad. The Lord intended it to be an encouragment, that evildoers would not go unpunished, and God's kingdom would ultimately prosper in the end.

Throughout the world, much terrorism is being inflicted on cities by suicide bombers, who to varying degrees are under the influence of demonic territorial spirits, which the ancients called the gods of war. These people yield to demonic suggestion, and commit crimes against humanity, which are contrary to God's word. Delusions of this type are rampant in these end times. God's word states: We have made lies our refuge and under falsehood have we hid ourselves. Therefore thus saith the Lord: Behold I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (or be anxious.)" (Isaiah 28:15-16)

In Ezek 3:18,20, God said the Prophet Ezekiel would be responsible for the death of the wicked if he failed to warn them. The Lord gave him this crucial responsibility of warning others, and made it clear that Ezekiel would be held accountable if he failed to carry out his duties. The Apostle Paul felt a similar obligation (Romans 1:14)

God takes it a step farther in Ezek 3:20, concerning the righteous man or woman who turns from God. God will not remember the righteous things the individual did, although they themselves may for a long time live under the delusion of what they perceive as their "righteous deeds." Salvation is of works that any man should boast. But once a person is saved, and abiding in haMashiach/Christ, His works will flow from them like the life within a vine causes the production of fruit. Being in right relationship with God, or turning away from Him, is an important issue. Even the greatest of our works are not sufficient to merit salvation.

These delusions are spoken of in Ezek 3:20, as a "stumbling block" which God will lay before the individual who turns from his righteousness. Why does the Lord do this? We can see at least three reasons. 1) As a test of the persons heart to see what they will do. 2) As a discipline which brings painful and negative consequences to help persuade the man to turn back to God. 3) The death of a disobedient believer will keep him from messing up his life, and the lives of others, even more. Some shall be saved as "through fire."

In Ezek 13:5 and Ezek 22:31, we read the phrase "standing in the gap." During battle, if the enemy made a hole in the city wall to penetrate the city, the warriors would stand in the gap, and make up the hedge. They would literally "take the place of the broken wall." In spiritual warfare, God looks for believers who will stand in the gap, to defend against Satan’s invasion and to rescue people.

The delusion which a person falls under, is perceived at times by intercessors "like a bubble." When the Lord shows these delusions afflicting people to intercessors, they may see visions of what is about to come to pass, or sense what the individual under the delusion is going through. It's like going inside of the bubble or delusion. When you are under it, it's like you live there. When God's people take authority over it, it's gone--like the bubble that is popped.

And then shall that wicked (one) be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the Spirit of His mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: even him whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders. And with all deceivableness of unrightness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send strong delusion that they should believe a lie that they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (2 Thessalonians 2:11)

STEPS TO DEMON OPPRESSION & POSSESSION

Prior to an individual becoming fully possessed, he goes in and out of this delusionary state, exploring the realm, becoming accustomed to it, like that of a new home, or automobile. He identifies with it, like a new outfit or pair of shoes, saying: "Yes, this is me!" God's intercessors will at times perceive that an individual is "into this or that" delusion. Much of this is simply the result of living a life of sin. Sinners are in a spiritual battle with the powers of darkness, but they do not know how to protect their minds by meditating in God's word and allowing it to be their full armour. They are not under God's protection because they are not in covenant with Him. To come into covenant relationship with God you must follow the instructions of the Lord in the New Testament:

But at times this has been given place to through role playing games, or the military experimentation with mind control.

The Lord is even now pouring out revelation on His prophets and intercessors and anointing them with words of wisdom and knowledge that many of these tragedies might be prevented. Please be in prayer for God's people who are His intercessors and their families. The scriptures teach that the Holy Spirit will disclose to us things yet future. (John 16:13)

INDIVIDUALS WHO CARRY A WOUND OR GRUDGE CONCERNING A BUSINESS

The newspapers frequently carry reports of individuals who commit crimes because they harbor a grudge against the person or business which they feel has done them wrong. God can use the power of prayer to distract, divert, or prevent a mission of this sort. Kidnapped children have been miraculously recovered. Criminals have been stopped by police for routine traffic violations, when they thought they'd had gotten away with their crime.

Courtrooms where divorces occur or criminals are convicted of crimes, financial institutions where an individual may feel he has been swindled, the robbing of victims by those who have not believed God to prosper their own lives, daycare centers where a custodial parent has their children cared for, an in-laws home, a place of employment where a spouse works or that has recently let an employee go, ethnic hatred in lands emotions flare, all these situations are susceptible to becoming the target of a a crime, military aggression or terrorism. Some acts of terrorism are meant to control whole populaces remotely through fear.

The business or agency targeted by a person with a grudge, may not have personally offended the individual. But may be related to the case in some way, or a memory occurred there. Through your prophetic intervention, God can mediate prior to a tragedy. The fact that the Holy Spirit discloses an event to you in your closet of prayer, before it happens provides time to pray regarding the outcome. We don't need to watch a television scene, dumb-struck and horrified as several buildings in a row are brought down by a highly systemized group such as Al Qaeda.

The Lord can cause the carefully laid plans of terrorists to go awry, or to not come off as successfully as planned. Often times the prayer must go before hand, as we are lead of the Lord in dreams, visions and God gives us things to prophesy. What's not God's will to prevent may at least be be alleviated. And we can command the works of God's hands in the very midst of an event.

In the Old Testament, Sennacherib the Assyrian general, took cities all around Jerusalem. But he was unable to make that city one of his long list of conquests. Intercessors stand in the gap and pray for others, most often in obscurity. We have seen thousands of these faithful servants of the Lord, in over 30 years of being Christians, and heard some astounding testimonies of the things God has done in response to the prayer of faith.

"There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man." (Ecclesiastes 9:14,15)

An intercessor was praying recently when suddenly the Lord gave them a prophetic vision of a multi-story office building in Seattle. There was a man there with a grudge against the building. The vision identified the dark facade or outer facing of the building, as one readily recognized. The man in the vision was 30ish and dark haired. He paused on the sidewalk in front of the building before going in.

The Lord focused particularly on something occurring on an upper floor, where there was a good deal of activity going, which seemed strange or unusual. This area wasn't on the top-most floor, but open to view in the vision, as one gazed up the escalator steps to the top where the escalator stopped. The man was hidden in the shadows at the top right hand corner. At one point there was something going on with the light fixture, as the individual opened or removed it. The Lord instructed the intercessor to pray for the office building, and concerning the individual in this place. God wanted them to speak to the very wood, stone of the building. In certain cases, people who have demonic soul ties with buildings, individuals, false religion and it's temples, clubs, gangs providing inappropriate and ungodly identity, or locations revealed by the Spirit of the Lord, need to have these broken, in the spiritual realm. Break these delusionary attachments, or demonic covenant, as you stand in the gap for their soul.

In evangelism, get them to acknowledge that they place their trust in false gods, and have not acknowledged the God of God's and His Messiah, or His great atoning work or salvation. But rather have placed their trust in that which cannot stand when everything that shall be shaken is shaken as the bible says. That these false hopes are like a house of cards, which provide false security, and do not meet their needs as God intends.

In an unsaved person breaking ungodly or inappropriate ties is a temporary measure of course, unless they repent and receive Yeshua/Jesus as Saviour and Lord. But this can provide time for them to seriously consider their lifestyle and need for salvation, or prevent a major catastrophe from occurring. Buying time or redeeming it because the days are evil. God as plowman is preparing the soil. (Is. 28:24-29) His purpose: "That the covenant with death be disannulled, and the agreement with hell not stand." (Is. 28:18)

BREAKING CURSES

The Greek term "ANATHEMA" is a familiar one for a curse or spoken judgment. It's derived from "to place [or set up] something." The term originally referred to the votive offering before a deity. Deut.7:26 "accursed"; Josh. 7:12, "a thing for destruction", i.e. that which is "consecrated [to God]" or "accursed [devoted to destruction]". In the New Testament it signified destruction and moral unworthiness. At Rom. 9:3 Paul wishes to be "accursed" and cut off from Christ for the sake of fellow Jews, whereas at Gal. 1:8 he hurled this contemptuous ejaculation at those preaching a false gospel. At Acts 23:14 the term indicates the sanctions of an oath.

Anathema is also the curse that comes upon us if we have had any objects in our home that are accursed objects. To break the curse you need to confess and repent of this sin and break the Curse of Anathema over you and your family. Break it over the very ground, wall-boards, stones, etc. over which it was spoken in an illigitimate or unauthorized way, to destroy your home and family, office building, church, etc. God commands believers to pray for Israel, and you will prosper. Her enemies have leveled every possible curse against her, her Messiah and her salvation for thousands of years, in the form of witchcraft-type prophecies. In Albania's history human sacrifices, including those of children laid the foundations of ancient buildings. Iraq has been cursed with the offering of blood sacrifice in the present war.

The enemies of the gospel cursed the Lord's own apostles, but it didn't stop them. However as in the case of Elijah, it can be demoralizing when it occurs on a regular basis. Read the scriptures. Pray. Enjoy the edification of fellow believers. And bless yourself in the name of the Lord.

As believers we believe that even a hanky that's prayed over, or carried on the body of an anointed person can carry the anointing. These were used by the apostles in the New Testament, and given to people for the purpose of facilitating healing, in that they could place the cloth on their sick body, or even wear it as a point of contact to release their faith in the Lord for healing. It is comforting to the sick, like the touch of a hand, but it stays with them, and is worn on their person. God does not view tangible points of contact as a hinderance to faith in every case. Unless of course, a person looks in an idolatrous way to the object and takes their eyes from off of the Saviour, and His atoning sacrifice. (Acts 19:12) God uses this method of healing. It's not meant to replace all other biblical methods, but to be used in the flow of the anointing, as the Spirit of the Lord leads.

I know two stone masons that worked on a commissioned piece that went into Antelope, Oregon to the residence of Razneesh. They laid hands on the stone and agreed in prayer that this work of the Razneesh would be dissolved.

Healing evangelist Francis Hunter told of a woman who testified of having a relative who was the proverbial jail bird, often in and out of jail. He didn't like to work. He was always asking her for some cash. She told francis: But he likes "M-O-N-E-Y." So they laid hands on some money in her purse, she gave it to him, and he got saved. A pastor of a large local church told the story of an inter-denominational class he took as part of a degree program. There was a good deal of doctrinal contention. He and his elders laid hands on a hankie and he took it to class and laid it on his desk. The dissent evaporated.

The Lord said to me that the very stone of the building has a memory of the hands that touched it. Command those stones to bless that man. He'd been cursed since the day he was born. He's not an unbeliever. We cannot always be every place, or we may see a vision of a catastrophic event which needs immediate attention in a far away place. But we can send God's word. "He sent His word and healed them all!"

THE DELUSIONS OF AN EVIL & ADULTEROUS GENERATION

Adulterous spirits are simply a catagory of deluding spirits, of which I have spoken earlier in this article. They gain access through the thought processes of a man or woman. When a person becomes born again, old things are passed away and all things become new. God teaches the believer to "renew their mind to the word of God, and not to entertain adulterous fantasies.

As the Lord gives gives prophetic guidance when you pray, and imparts revelation, bind these demonics in the name of Yeshua/Jesus and by the blood of Yeshua/Jesus and prophesy against the evil spirits that are trying to delude your mate, or family member. Speak God's word, and shatter the hiding place of that spiritual force! The deluding spirit may gain access by a married man entertaining thoughts like: I wonder what it would be like to be a single Dad? He may have single or divorced men friends. But he begins to meditate on this thought, and other thoughts. Soon he's thinking more about leaving his wife, and what began as an innocent looking delusion comes to fruition in a divorce. He has utilized a counterfeit principle concerning the genuine prophetic realm, and Satan has destroyed his home.

While it is a natural desire to have a home or possessions, God teaches us that godliness with contentment is great gain. An individual may covet what they do not have and come under a deluding spirit, even becoming willing to commit a crime in order to obtain the object of their affection, as in the story of a man named Ahab who coveted the real estate of another. The scriptures refer to the violent crime committed over Naboth's vineyard, by a man and wife who plotted the man's death, so they could readily obtain his property. Covetous delusions of this sort facilitate wars and fighting between nations. History records the betrayal of individuals and people groups, for the confiscation of personal property. (1 Kings 21:1-29-2 Kings 9:21) Those who have given place to a spiritual force by coming into agreement with a demonically inspired demonic delusion, and making inner vows of this sort should pray and repent, asking forgiveness for the specific sin.

Jesus took the curse for us. Before our new birth, we walked under the law of sin and death; but after we accepted Christ, and were sanctified for His purpose we came under the law of life in Christ Jesus, who became a curse for us.

"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death" (Romans 8:2).

"Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith" (Galatians 3:13-14).

We are possessors of a marvellous inheritance in and through Messiah, as Christians! God has broken the curse that would have caused the punishment for evil to be ours. We deserved hell, but when we come to haMashiach/Jesus, he gave us a home with Him in Heaven, which we experience in a fore-taste here on earth, but then forever. We are no longer under the curse of sickness and death. We have power over sin through Yeshua/Jesus. Sin can no longer have dominion over us.

An individual must want to overcome the habit pattern of sinning, and life for God, through His word and relationship with Him in haMashiach/Christ. The Spirit of the Lord will not violate ones will. Those who continue to sin after receiving the knowledge of the truth, will suffer the consequences. If we repent, God is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Sin will always cause death to work in our lives.

Although we are children of God and have been given the covenant of blessing, "idols" in our hearts and lives can cause us to be open in some ways to curses. Those who come under the curses of God are unbelievers and Christians who knowingly and deliberately continue to sin.

  • (a) Ask those who know that they have made inner vows for which they need release to come forward and ask others to stand with them to pray for them again.

  • (b) Say the prayer and get the people to renounce those inner vows and as they do expect deliverance. "In the name of Jesus Christ, I specifically renounce all vows which I have made, knowing or unknowingly, against myself. I specifically renounce.....( name those vows which you have made and which you know to be wrong). I ask you to totally cleanse me and set me free from the results of those vows and I thank you for doing it."
  • (c) If you have a believing spouse or friend, have them command the demons to go. Or command them to leave from you yourself, in the name of Yeshua/Jesus and by the blood of the cross of haMashiach/Christ.

PROPHECIES TO OR CONCERNING THE INANIMATE

The concept of prophesying to the inanimate, like God calling me to prophesy to very materials with which the office building was erected, may seem strange to the minds of some today. But prophesying to inanimate objects is a truth well established in scripture. God spoke and commanded the light to shine out of darkness. He spoke and the day divided from the night. (Genesis 1) The word of the Lord brought forth the Old Testament tabernacle, it's furnishings and the garments of the priests. Ezekiel prophesied to the mountains, to the wind, to a valley of dry bones. What's more, prophetic people have upon occasion heard the inanimate talking back, as in the case of Ezekial's hearing the dry bones speaking to him. Does the very land of Erets Israel weep for the slain that have fallen in battle? The dried blood of Cain's brother Abel cried from the very ground into which it had seeped at the time of his murder. Ezekiel prphesied to the timber of the forest in Ezekiel 20:46. "Son of Man set thy face toward the south, and drop thy word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the south field." The Lord gave a prophet an utterance concerning the uniting of two lands into one as he held 2 sticks in his hand, as God directed.

In Jer. 30:17, God gives a prophetic word concerning "the restoration of deteriorated or lost health." Even the lost and wasted years of ones life are not outside of God's power to restore. (Joel 2:25) The Lord even prophesied to the financial system of a country, saying "I will restore your fortunes."

"At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,' says the Lord" (Zeph. 3:20).

Whatever you do not have restored in your life will only be because you did not ask the Lord and to continue believe for it, against all odds, even when your faith in God and His word was embattled by the powers of darkness. Or it was not the Lord's will for you.

"The word of the LORD came again unto me, saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: And join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand." (vs. 15-17).

What about speaking prophetically to inanimate things in the New Testament? Yeshua/Jesus cursed the fig tree with the power of His word, and it died; then he told his disciples that with faith they could move a mountain. The scripturws state: And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39)

"Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to see whether perhaps he would find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. He said to it, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' And his disciples heard it. Then they came to Jerusalem... (11:13-15)

And when evening came, Jesus and his disciples went out of the city. In the morning as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered away at its roots. Then Peter remembered and said to him, 'Rabbi, look! The fig tree that you cursed has withered.'" (11:19-21)

He spoke to the sea and calmed it. Then he enquired of his disciples: "Where is your faith?" As if they'd misplaced it somewhere. (Luke 8:2, 3)And he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, What manner of man is this! for he commandeth even the winds and water, and they obey him. (Luke 8:25)

(Matt 21:18-22) In the end times we observe God's two witnesses who shut up the heavens for 3 1/2 years. This was probably not a prayer asking God to shut heaven, but men with revelation as to their authority in haMashiach/Christ.

In Ezekiel 36:1 we read: "Son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD. This is what the Sovereign LORD says: The enemy said of you, "Aha!

The wind hears and obeys God's Word (Mark 4:39) Yeshua/Jesus said: "If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done".

The Prophet Ezekiel taken in spirit to a valley and told to prophesy to the valley of dry bones. He commanded the bones to "Hear the word of the Lord," and no sooner had he spoken than he saw by the Spirit that those bones were responding to the word of the Lord. He had to also prophesy breath and sinews, and to command them to live. God prophesies His will concerning things well in advance.

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.

He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were dry. He asked me, "Son of man, can these bones live?"

I said, "O Sovereign Lord, you alone know." Then He said to me, "prophesy to these bones and say to them, Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.

I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will know that I am the Lord.'"

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was Prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then He said to me, "prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'" So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet - a vast army.

Then He said to me: "Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, "Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off. Therefore prophesy and say to them: This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

O my people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you my people will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and done it, declares the Lord."
