I'm going on a journey, 
When life on earth is through;
I'm going to be with Jesus,
The Lord you never knew.
You never knelt with bitter tears,
Repenting of your sin;
You never opened up your heart,
To let the Savior in.
You went to church on Sundays,
But never knelt to pray;
He offered you salvation,
But still you turned away.
You even went to Sunday School,
And read His Holy Word;
He gave you lots of chances,
But you never called Him Lord.
So when our lives are over,
In this old world below,
I'm going on a journey,
Where you can never go.
I'm going up to heaven,
To live with Him on high.
To dwell in that bright city,
Where the soul shall never die.
I'm going on a journey,
Wish you could go there, too;
I'm going to be with Jesus,
The Lord you never knew.
