When the leaves turn red on the vein that the shoot will come out that they pineapple grows on.
The fruit takes 1 and a half years to mature. No wonder they are so expensive!
In case you were wondering where you get the seed from ... you don't! When you buy a pineapple, just lop off the top and stick that in the ground! Could it get any easier?!?!

The baby is starting to come up from the middle! It looks soft and fuzzy right now.

You can see the 'head' of the pineapple now, poking its way above the 'leaves' of the pineapple plant.
