Callisto

While working on a mission from Hera which sent her to try to kill Hercules, Callisto found and ate a golden apple making her immortal. She tried to trap Hercules in a room sealed off by spikes and fire; he escaped only to trap Callisto in there instead. There Callisto stayed for quite sometime until an Amazon, out to kill the Amazon nation came after Xena and Gabrielle. Xena had to think fast and she made an agreement with Callisto. If Cal would agree to help Kill Velasca Xena would give Callisto the ambrosia which would turn her into a goddess. She agreed.

While fighting Callisto had slipped because Xena had cut the rope on the bridge and she and Velasca tumbled into the lava below. There Callisto stayed until Gabrielle's daughter freed her. Callisto and Hope killed Xena's son Solan and Xena trapped Callisto in a cave by collapsing the walls and making the ceiling cave in. Callisto was very disappointed, she had gotten her revenge on Xena by killing her only son but she didn't feel any better, only more empty and bored.

Callisto sulked for a long time under those piles of rock and marble until Hope came out again and told Callisto she would make her life better if she helped her kill Hercules. Hoping she would finally put an end to her emptiness Callisto agreed to help Hope one last time.

Callisto sided with Ares and succeeded in trapping Hercules in the portal where his opposite was kept. But only after releasing the Solvan and getting his hind's blood necklace. To make a long story short Callisto betrayed Ares and covered a knife with the hind's blood and stabbed Ares' nephew, Strife, killing him. Ares then trapped Callisto in the portal where Hercules was trapped.

Callisto soon escaped the portal and decided to help protect the daughter of Dahawk and Gabrielle - Hope - again. Callisto only agrees to help Hope because she wants to die, she wants nothing, no memories, no Tartarus, no nothing. Hope agreed to this and Callisto protected Hope. Eventually Ares gets into the picture and has a kid with Hope. Callisto sides with Xena but first she makes Xena agree to stab her with the hinds blood knife when Hope is gone.

Things are going good until Gabrielle finds out that if Xena kills Hope the fates will cut Xena's life line. When the time comes Xena has the Hinds' blood dagger and is getting ready to swing at Hope, fearing the loss of her friend Gabrielle dives at Hope knocking Hope and herself into a fiery pit. Callisto was in shock; she saw how heartbroken Xena was and figures that she has to get Xena to stab her now or it may never happen. Callisto taunts Xena, laughing and making remarks about how Gabrielle had just sacrificed herself. Xena gets frustrated and spins around nailing Callisto in the stomach with the hinds' blood dagger... Slowly, Callisto lets out a sigh of relief, gives Xena a "thank you" caress on the cheek, and then falls... never to return again.

Finally, she had gotten what she had always wanted...
