Wheel of the Year

Hang on, this page still has a lot to go yet!

Samhain (October 31) Happy New Year, Witches!

(Yule - December 21) "Yule" love this holiday!

February 2, Imbolc/g (Em-bowl/g) Brigits's Festival of Light & Life! This holiday is also known as Candlemas, Oimelc, and Imbolg. Festival of Light & Life. What does this mean to you? How about, "out with the old and in with the new!" This holiday celebrates the coming of Spring. New beginnings and spiritual growth are represented on this day by the traditional sweeping of the circle with a besome (a Witch's Broom). A personal home Imbolc tradition you may like is to sweep around the enterences and porches to symbolize "sweeping out the old." Another Pagan tradition of this holiday is the making of Corn or Grain Dollies. These Dollies, do not have to be "dollies" per se. They can be made as a wall hanging. (See? Check out the pic on the left.) There are many ways the Grain Dollies can be made to represent the purpose you are making it for.

On February 2nd, people all across America are practicing a form of "winter divination." This anuall ritual is performed every year by using a little rodant...yep, a groundhog. On the calendar,February 2nd is marked as Groundhog Day.This little guy helps the people of town predict "weather" or not what the "weather" will be like for the following six weeks to come. In Wyoming, I think it's always going to be another six weeks of winter!

March 22, Ostara, the Spring Equinox. For all time, the egg has been a symbol of new life, as is to what this holiday represents.
