A hug can mean many things.
It's something that makes a heart want to sing.
It could mean "I love you so".
Or "I don't ever want to let go".
A hug is warm, a hug is sweet.
It makes a heart skip a beat.
A hug makes you better when all goes wrong.
A hug is much more than a romantic love song.
Hug a cat, they love to snuggle.
Hug a dog, they want that cuddle.
Hug your teddy when the world turns round.
Hug your friends when they are down.
A hug is everywhere, a hug is free.

I battle with my thoughts all night.
Thinking how it started.
Daybreak comes and I'm still waiting.
Why are you half-hearted?
Your eyes provided me with reason.
Your hands with animation.
But now your eyes bring only reason.
With hands of desolation.
Your hands were like my ray of light.
Your cherry lips were tender.
But now I know that if we kiss.
You'll somehow be a pretender.
They told me you would leave one day.
And that you always saw me light.
They warned me of your heart of stone.
But I believed in our first night.
And now they laugh at my expense.
Knowing that I'll never learn.
But I still love you and persist.
To live for your return.
