Yuletide in Nigeria

In Nigeria, each family gives a hamper basket filled with food, games, kitchen utensils and silverware to another family.

"We focus on the true meaning of Christmas-we don't dwell much on the gifts. The focus is that God sent Jesus. We're just grateful for God's selflessness. Even if a family doesn't get any gifts, they're still thankful."

-senior Kathleen Ndackson from Nigeria

Feliz Navidad in Columbia

In Columbia, Christmas truly begins at midnight. When the clock strikes 12, everyone runs to their neighbors to greet them and wish them a "Feliz Navidad!" They also exchange presents at midnight, and there is much dancing before and after. "Columbian families are bigger, so the best part about Christmas is that you end up meeting relatives from all over. It's a very colorful celebration...everyone is in a lively mood."

-freshman Vivi Valencia from Columbia
