Employers are still hiring

College students fear not. Employers report they are still hiring despite the current economic upheaval. In fact, most employers say they are increasing college hiring rather than decreasing.

According to a survey of employers conducted by Internet job site collegegrad.com, economic recession has not affected college hiring as adversely as was previously thought. "The results show more employers increasing their college hiring than decreasing," said Brian Krueger, President of collegegrad.com."It's important to note that this survey was conducted after the events of September 11th, so the economic impact of the recent events is fully reflected in the results."

The number one purpose of this survey was to identify the top 100 employers for college students. These are listed on the website. But the survey also shows a positive hiring trend for college students, with some of the hottest industry sectors this year being government and military. Any company with links to either industry presents good hiring opportunities for college students.
