Passion's latest release
By Heather Ellsworth

Passion. The word implies an abandonment of self in the face of strong emotion. That's exactly how we are to worship our wonderful King. This deep worship is also the goal of the Passion Conferences.

The vision of Passion Conferences is "to bring Christian college and university students together...and to draw strength and encouragement from God and one another." Louie Giglio founded the Passion Conferences. They began in 1997 when 2000 college students gathered to earnestly seek God in worship and prayer. Since then, Passion has organized several other worship events, including OneDay, a worship-oriented gathering of 40,000 students in May of 2000.

Passion produces a live worship CD from every tour. Previous releases include "Live Worship From the 268 Generation," "Better is One Day," "The Road to OneDay," "OneDay Live," "The Noise We Make" by Chris Tomlin, "Porch and Altar" by Charlie Hall and "Can You Hear Us?" by the David Crowder Band.

The most recent Passion tour, Our Love is Loud, embarked on Sept. 11, 2001. In the face of great tragedy, Passion continued to lead our generation to intimacy with our faithful God. The resulting CD, also titled "Our Love is Loud," combines 13 songs performed by three different artists into one powerful worship experience.

The songs range from a remake of the hymn "Come Thou Fount" to new releases such as "Enough" and "Madly." Some songs, such as "Here I Am to Worship" and "God of Wonders" should be familiar to every ORU student from singing them in chapel. Most of the songs, however, are produced here for the first time.

The style would be best described as modern worship. Since the CD was recorded live, it is almost interactive and is a powerful tool to bring you into the presence of the Lord of all creation.
