The Firm

In September 2001, when students were just beginning to gain focus
in classes, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
executive members were planning the launch of The Firm.
The Firm offers students an opportunity to gain professional experience
developing their advertising skills while making integrated marketing
services available to local businesses. This places ORU among the
top schools in the nation, along with Pepperdine University, on
pace to be one of the first with a fully-functioning firm.
All of The Firm's employees are PRSSA members who work together
to fulfill their mission statement: "To effectively establish and
operate a professional Integrated Marketing Communications firm
with integrity and a level of customer service that exceeds expectations."
Currently, The Firm services eight clients including Park Hotels,
Nordaggio's and Tulsa Public Schools, with numerous businesses waiting
to be added to the clientele list.
Future plans for The Firm entail a possible merger with other on-campus
clubs to enlarge the student base as well as to gain more clients.
Membership in PRSSA is available to students of all majors. Executive
Vice President of The Firm Selah Davis says, "The Firm is geared
to be student friendly. We tailor-make each client's team according
to the time, interests and abilities of each student.
The membership drive for the spring semester runs until Mar. 13.
