Barnes
earns third Mid-Con P.O.W. award

Barnes earned his third Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week
award this season after helping his team to a win over league-leading
Valparaiso in the final home game of his career.
Barnes
capped his home career at Oral Roberts with a spectacular game and
a game-winning shot. After scoring 14 points and dishing out six assists
in an 84-67 win over Western Illinois, Barnes was the difference in
the Golden Eagles' 77-74 win over league-leading Valparaiso. He scored
a game-high 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-8 accuracy
from three-point range. Barnes' most important shot came at the end
of the game, when he spotted up and drained a game-winning three-pointer
with five seconds left. He added seven assists and three steals in
his final appearance in the Mabee Center.
For the week, Barnes averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 assists per game.
He has won the weekly honor twice in the past three weeks and is the
only player in the conference to win the honor more than twice this
season.
ORU (16-13, 10-4) closed out its regular season with a conference
win at Chicago State (94-64) and a loss to Southern Utah (82-75).
The Golden Eagles' victory over Chicago State clinched a No. 2 seed
in the upcoming conference tournament.
