All-Star basketball to be played at the Mabee Center after home Golden Eagle games
By Joshua Muench

In an effort to increase student attendance at ORU basketball games, the intramurals program will be hosting All-Star Men's and Women's games at the Mabee Center. The Men's All-Star game will take place at approximately 9:15 following the ORU men's game against Western Illinois. Every men's floor with an A or B+ league team will be allowed to nominate one player to play in the game. In order to keep the team sizes manageable, no floor will be allowed to nominate more than one player even if they have an A and a B+ team.

On the women's side, every floor with a team will nominate their best player to play at approximately 9:15, on March 3, following the women's game against Western Illinois. All-Star player nominations will be restricted to residential students only.

Both games will consist of two 20-minute halves and teams will include about 10 players each. This should be an excellent way to incorporate students, intramurals, and the basketball program. It is perhaps one of the more exciting opportunities in recent history for students involved in intramurals and those who will cheer them on. The opportunity to play at the Mabee Center is something the intramurals program has been looking into for awhile. Depending on student involvement at the All-Star games, the department will look into the possibility of holding similar functions in the upcoming year.
