ORU
receives Award
Recently, Oral Roberts University received the Council of Christian
Colleges and Universities annual award for recognizing racial diversity
and promoting racial harmony on campus. The award, called the CCCU
Racial Harmony Award, was given based on 30 Web pages that students
in the Technical Writing II course created - Web pages that tell about
multicultural activities such as missions, Souls A' Fire, athletics,
Black History Month and Multicultural Week.
ORU submitted the Web pages to CCCU along with a letter from President
Roberts and a brief document describing the diversity on ORU's campus.
The Web pages, which can be found at www.oru.edu/diversity/index.html,
were designed to share information with students and with others off-campus.
Dr. Jeff Ogle, VP for Student Services and Dean of the School of LifeLong
Education, received the award, Feb. 5, in Washington D.C. at CCCU's
annual conference for university presidents. |
