Chapter Three

AN: I think I’ll give the beginning of this chapter an R rating even though I personally don’t think it’s anything THAT sexy but some people might be more sensitive to that than I am so yeah, you were warned.

~~

Rays of light invaded their way through the closed blinds and slowly woke Destiny up. She groaned and dug her face into AJ’s chest. After finally allowing her eyes to open, she looked up. AJ was still in a deep slumber. A small smile came to Destiny’s face as she reminisced last night. She was more than happy just sitting there in his arms, watching his chest rise as he breathed. Destiny nuzzled her head into his neck. Destiny looked over his body at the clock, situated on his night stand. It read 12:00pm.
“Crap.” She muttered as she shot up from the bed. Destiny looked down on the floor, found her underwear and quickly put it on.
She was about to step off the bed when two strong arms wrapped around her waist.
“Where do you think you’re going?” A groggy voice asked from behind her.
“Make some breakfast then call Nick since you didn’t let me last night.” She smirked.
“I think I should be offended by this. I’m in bed with my girlfriend and she’s talking about Nick Carter.” AJ said, speaking more to himself than to her.
“And no, you’re not calling Nick.” He added in a stern voice.
“Why not?” Destiny asked..

~~

“Because you’re just...not.” AJ straddled her and slid his fingers through her silky hair.
“This isn’t fair.” Destiny started arguing but he silenced her with a kiss.
He made a trail of kisses from her mouth to her ear. He sucked on her earlobe and on the spot right behind her earlobe. AJ let his tongue roam in and out of her ear every once in a while. As soon as he heard the comforting moan escape from her mouth he moved down to her neck. His tongue did all the work, savoring every taste and flavor her body had to offer. AJ’s hands moved up and down her body feeling every curve. Destiny shivered as his tongue flicked over her collarbone and his hands teased her inner thighs. His hands moved to her back and unclasped the garment.
“Why do I even bother wearing clothes?” Destiny chuckled and caught a grip of his head, planning on enjoying every minute. Within seconds her emotions were on overdrive and she completely forgot about her planned task.

“Must you do that?” Nick asked in disgust as the girl sitting next to him, lifted her legs and rested them on his lap
“Yes Nick, I must. You’re my slave now and if I want you to be my footrest, you will.” A perky Lin Thornton demanded. She twirled her perfectly manicured fingers through her blonde hair. Her hazel eyes danced as she noticed the look on Nick’s face, utter embarrassment.
“Yeah, okay.” Nick returned his attention to the sappy movie Lin chose to watch. He was trying his best to ignore her.
“Don’t talk to me like that, Nickolas. The deal was, I keep your little secret safe and you fulfill my every need plus stay single unless you want me to tell Carrie everything. The only time you will be allowed to get into a relationship is if it’s with me. I’m not going to force you to date me again but when you finally come to your senses, you’ll know it’s in your best interest to be with me. I know you want to. You’ve missed me, you should realize that.” Lin smiled. She kicked her high heels shoes off and stuck her feet in his face.
“Yeah, I know the rules. You just explained them to me 5 million times. I’ll do whatever you want but I refuse to date you. What do you want me to do? Kiss your feet?” Nick scrunched his nose up.

~~

“No, I want a massage. And you better start acting normally or your secret gets out.” Lin glared at him.
Nick sighed and started massaging her feet in circular movements. All of the pressure was turning him into a different person. He knew he was being a jerk but he couldn’t deny the part of him that liked every minute. Having grown up in the spotlight and not really having the opportunity to act like a kid, Nick decided that it was better late than never. Seeing how far his relationship scared him, he was starting to depend on her, unable to live his life without her. A serious relationship meant becoming a real adult. Nick didn’t want that, not yet. He didn’t want to hurt Carrie either. After all, she did mean something to him so he followed Lin’s plans and orders. There was no way he was going to be Lin’s boyfriend. Once was enough to scar and disgust him. But never did Lin forbid him from dating, as long as it wasn’t serious and so his brain was working overtime on a way to find the perfect fling. And Nick knew exactly who he wanted to fill the job.

~~

Destiny sat in her pajamas on the couch. A cereal bowl was resting on her knee and was balanced by her right hand. She flipped through the channels with her free hand. Settling on a talk show, she began eating her breakfast. Destiny heard the flowing water from the shower stop. AJ had remembered he had some meetings to go to that afternoon and after forcing him to break away from Destiny, hopped into the shower. Being too tired to move, Destiny nodded and in her own time got prepared for an extra late breakfast.
“Jet lag should rot in hell.” Destiny mumbled and tilted her head at the dysfunctional people on the screen.
“What the hell? Why would someone want to sleep with their girlfriends grandmother? I don’t care how good she looks for her age. When it comes down to it she’s still 75...” She talked to herself. Destiny put the empty bowl on the coffee table in front of her. Her eyes widened as she tapped her fingers on her knee, anxiously awaiting the outcome of the weird, diverse group of people in the show.

~~

“And she forgives him for doing that? What is she going to agree to next? Having a threesome?” Destiny winced her eyes and let out a sound of disgust.
“I think the real question is what are you going to do next? Throw a chair at the screen?” AJ asked as he jumped into the empty seat beside her.
“That’s a possibility.” Destiny nodded.
“Lets not get too involved in stranger’s lives.” AJ pulled the remote out of the strong grip Destiny’s hand had around it.
He turned the TV off and moved to sit on the coffee table.
“Want to come with me?” AJ questioned as he traced the lines on her hand with his fingers.
“To your meetings?” Destiny questioned.
“No, I got the day wrong. Those are tomorrow.” His face seemed a bit flushed.
“How’d you find that out?” She rubbed her tired eyes.
“Looked at my calendar. I knew there was a reason Kevin made us keep those.” AJ shrugged.
“Sure, just give me a second to get ready.” Before going upstairs, Destiny grabbed the bowl beside AJ and put it in the sink.
She then looked over at AJ, who moved to the couch. He was playing with her scrunchie, trying to put it in his hair. Destiny bit her lip, trying her best not to laugh at the scene he was acting out.
“Mind if I borrow that?” She asked, taking the tangled scrunchie out of his hair.
“Please do. I think I need to grow my hair out before I can get any use out of it.” AJ rubbed his head.
“The fact that you want to get any use out of it freaks me out enough.” Destiny scoffed and ran up the stairs.

~~

“Don’t you think this could have waited?” Brian kept one hand on the wheel and the other, entwined in his wife’s hand.
“Sure Bri, we could have waited until I settled in and we could have waited until you had a break for longer than a day but who knows when that’ll be.” Coral sighed. She rubbed her other hand against her jeans.
“I don’t think we’re going to make it back by tomorrow afternoon anyway...” Brian snuck a quick look at her face, full of anguish and anxiety. Brian felt bad. The previous day, when the limo driver dropped them off, Coral had been itching to tell Brian something. She didn’t know how exactly to let it out without it being painful to him. After avoiding the topic the entire night, she finally confessed to him that her family didn’t know of their wedding. In fact, they didn’t know a thing about Brian. Before letting him respond, she begged him to drive her to Skylar Cove, Coral’s hometown, so she could tell them. There was no use in waiting any longer. Since 3 am, they’d been on the road. Neither one of them wanted to get to their destination too fast so they allowed many rest stops along the way.

~~

“So you’ll miss a day of work...will they hang you or something? Coral snapped.
“That’s not what I meant.” Brian tried his best to stay calm.
“Then why did you mention it?” Coral snarled.
“Why are you being such a pain, Corz? I’m not the one who kept the wedding from my parents. They knew the minute we got back from our honeymoon.” He responded.
“I’m sorry I’m not as perfect as you, Brian.” Coral stated as tears welled up in her eyes.
“Baby, I’m sorry. Don’t cry. Please don’t. You know I can’t stand to see you upset.” Brian forced his car to turn on the nearest exit. He parked in front of a desolate diner and looked at Coral. Her body was shivering as the tears dripped out of her eyes. Brian’s hearts softened and he wiped her tears with his thumb. He kissed her forehead and cupped her face, forcing her to look in his eyes.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you. I just don’t really understand why you would want to hide us from your parents. We’re so good together. And I’m so proud of what we have. The knowledge that you might not be scares me.” He inhaled deeply.
“Brian, it’s not you. I’m scared to tell my dad. It’s not that you’re not amazing and all I could wish for in a spouse. It’s not even close to that. As much as I love you, I can’t promise that my dad will. He hasn’t liked anyone that I dated. And I haven’t been dating tattooed gangsters so I don’t know why he hasn’t approved of any of my relationships. You met my sister, Cheyenne and yeah, she liked you so she might be more acceptant but the fact that we tied the knot so fast might be a downfall. They’re very overprotective. Both of them used to call me every day until I turned 21 and they lowered it to once a week. I’m just...terrified. I don’t know if you can understand that but please try?” Coral pleaded.
Brian embraced her, reassuring her that she had his support. He turned the engine on and they were on their way.

“Get this party started!” Destiny sang as she ran down the stairs.
“What party?” AJ asked, now lying on the couch.
“Come on, lets go.” A now refreshed Destiny, pointed at the door excitedly.
“Are you sure or would you like to take another 40 minutes to make sure that’s what you want?” AJ yawned.
“Aw, are you sulking?” Destiny kneeled in front of him.
“You said a few minutes...” AJ pouted.
“Well, 40 minutes are a few minutes.” Destiny offered a smile.
“Too long.” He pointed out.
“I know. I’m just moving in slow motion today. I saw the bed and gave into the temptation to sleep for another 20 minutes. Then I had to drag myself into the shower but I’m here now. Still wanna go out?” Destiny asked, playing with his earrings.
“How can I say no?” AJ stretched his arm and sat up.
“Are you proposing to me, Des?” AJ asked in amusement.
“What? Why would you...oh.” Destiny realized she was still kneeling. She rose to her feet as her face turned a crimson red.
“Next time, don’t forget the ring.” He stuck his tongue out at her.
“So embarrassing.” Destiny muttered softly. As a nervous habit, she removed one of the rings from her fingers. She was about to slip it back on when AJ grabbed it from her.
“Is that for me?” He asked.
“What are you doing?” She gave him a weird look.
“Receiving your gift.” AJ grinned.
“AJ, that’ll never fit you.” Destiny laughed.
“Probably not but until I find a chain to keep it on, I’m going to wear it on my pinky.” He twisted the ring on his smallest finger until it fit.
“You know that isn’t a...a...” Destiny trailed off, unable to find the right words.
“An engagement ring?” AJ chuckled
“I’m pretty aware of that, Des.” He reassured her.
“Well, alrighty then.” She nodded.
