Neil Armstrong
was born in Wapakoneta,Ohio, on August 5,1930
He
Received his Bachelor Science Degree in aeronautical
engineering
from
Purdue University and got his Masters in Science from the
University of Southern California.

Before his experiences
with NASA Neil joined the U.S. Navy, and flew as a naval
aviator. He joined the NACA and NASA as a civilian test
pilot where he went from base to base testing out high
speed planes and other expirimental machines.

Finally,
Neil was selected to become a NASA astronaut in 1962. His
first mission was in 1966 when he and Dave Scott were put
aboard the Gemini 6. The mission was the first upgrading
or fixing of a satillite. They completed their first
objective but couldn't complete their other one which
would of been the first space walk, but they couldn't do
this because of jet trouble.
Neil
Armstrong's greattest mission was on July 16, 1969.
Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Mike Collins were asigned to
depart for the moon on Apollo 11. Their objectives were to
be the first human beings to set foot on the suface of the
moon and to gather moon rocks and explore the surface of the
moon. They completed all of their orders and Armstrong
followed by Aldrin stepped onto the face of the moon and gathered moon rocks.
