
As much as I would like to take credit for writing or creating these rules, I cannot. I have seen variants these rules circulating on the Internet, and I took teh ones that most applied to us, and compiled them as I saw fit. These rules are fairly common during combat, so I really do not know to whom credit is due.
01. Keep strategy and trust privy to a select few.
02. Stay calm and think clearly.
03. Know what your forces can and cannot do.
04. Maintain a reserve force.
05. Know your enemy.
06. Respect and confidence breed loyalty.
07. A good commander listens to his soldiers.
08. Aggressiveness is a force multiplier.
09. Greed corrupts; it is the a most destructive force.
10. Circumstances do not always allow for "Rules of Engagement".
11. Destroy the enemy's ability to wage war, not the enemy.
12. One must conduct battle on one's own terms.
13. Seek out every possible advantageous ally.
14. Know your soldiers' capabilities.
15. Know your options, and exercise them regularly.
16. Soldiers are soldiers. Warfare does not discriminate by age or gender.
17. Strategy is dictated by available tactics.
18. Fear is a dual-edged sword.
19. Once committed to the offensive, stay on the offensive.
20. Never send your soldiers to do a task you would not do, or are incapable of doing yourself.
